Words: Morrissey, Music: Gallagher. Why not? Sounds like a good idea to me.
I agree. I wasn't trying to put Oasis on the same level as MJ or Elvis. That would be preposterous (and I'm a fan of Oasis as well).
Don't tell me what to do or what to like. I am not stopping you from following like a blind cattle. I am just expressing my opinion.
To acknowledge greatness in more than one area is not blind following, it's being a music fan. You are not a music fan, you are blindly following some contrived idea you (or your friends) have put in your head.
And I would so like to know what films you enjoy (and don't go googling any directors now!). I bet you're one of those who claim to like obscure cinema and when asked to name a few you say Inception, Memento, Shawshank Redemption or some other Hollywood bullshit.
Ketamine: Agree!
O, do go stuff yourself Gregor. I actually can't find people who are capable to discuss the music I listen, the books I read and the films I watch, because they are not familiar with them. It's actually very dulling to come to work on Monday and try to listen to my co-workers quacking about the latest Star Wars crap they just saw over the weekend.
That hardly counts as a reply to what I wrote.
see i love telling people about the things i like that they arent aware of but of course only if they want to listen which many do outside of the internet
Top 5 favorite films? Genuine answer now. Films you've seen and enjoyed. No googling obscure titles you haven't seen.
hmm tops are always tough but i dont google as i dont care if theyre obscure or not, i just like what i like but ok.
city of god (i also thought city of men, the lesser known one made excellent use of stock footage to connect the two films even though it was made later and is a companion film)
science of sleep
rushmore (this one is also kinda personal as maybe favorite cinema should be as it changed my life at the right time)
mulhulland drive
barton fink
the top three are always the same but i love film and could name a bunch of obscure stuff if i cared to but these movies mean the most to me. to do a top three i feel i need to name the ones that mean the most to me even if i could name some the cabinet for it use of a totally surreal self made set, or the first animation made with shadow puppets (cant remember the name off hand, or life is beautiful just for the harrowing message of self saving willpower etc. i could name breakthroughs in cinema from the french renaissance in the sixities to the hitchcock technical masterpieces like rope or something like m or vice for there just sheer brilliance but these five mean the most to me when all things are considered and weighed

I fail to connect these with your "I loathe anything that is big and/or known" schtick. These are all well known and pretty broad films. Good, though (as it's not mutually exclusive, as we've already established).
can you point out where I say you loath everything big and known. i think your confusing me with someone else and now your confusing me. i dont know anything about you so why would i make that claim. please point out where i do. i think thats fair

Is this not you? Are there are two of you?
couldnt you just link the quote in your post because when i clicked on that it seemed to bring up the whole thread again which seemed sorta redundant and almost like click bait and pointless imo. im not a very techy guy so if i was supposed to be able to see what you meant it was hard for me to tell so perhaps its just me. if you mean am i the person who made this post whom you were also talking with
"I am not impressed by the sales figures at all. I also don't like Elvis' music, nor M.J's, nor Prince, nor Madonna, nor all the BIG names. I always loved the underdogs. And it makes me feel good about myself that I don't fall into the category of the majority, the mainstream listener. The same can also be applied to what I watch and read."
then no that is not me
That link leads directly to a specific post. Easy as 1-2-3...
But if it's not you, then carry on, and sorry to bother you!

I am not playing this game with you. You seem like you have the claws out to scratch at anything I might find valuable. I watch Eastern and North European movies (titles and directors you probably have never heard of). Now YOU go google it.
isnt anyone gonna ask me to name my top 5 favourite movies?! *waiting*
oh.... okay, fine
