So, I just caught a small bit of Radio 4's Pick Of The Week. I heard something quite amazing. The most amazing voice I think I've ever heard. They played a bit of Nitin Sawhney Spins The Globe, and a song was played, namely Ocean by Nicki Wells. Think of Elizabeth Frazer, only more so, if that's at all possible. And she's not had any records released yet. Have a listen here at 22m 20s. I'm smitten.

Thanks a bunch for the link - I, too, heard the snippet on Pick of the Week and sat stunned and wordless in a freezing car to the end. Am going to post it on Twitter if you're a twitterer :) @AnyaLipska

She's been the voice behind his best vocal tracks ever since his beyond skin album.she has got a great voice but much like sawhney himself in that despite his fairly prominent profile he is still grossly underappreciated by the mainstream media.he ie possibly one or the most consistent and talented British producers but as with this tune his visionary Anglo Asian style probably gets unfairly pigeon holed as non mainstream.even the fact that he is playing on radio 2 ( which is no bad thing) goes to show either the broadcasters don't believe in him or the public at large has got no taste!
Ok.rant over.
