Next Sunday's San Diego show

I'm biased but next Sunday's Bayside show could be the prettiest of the tour. The view of the bay is pretty darn cool. When I saw Death Cab with Spoon & Mates of State there last year, it reminded me why I love living in San Diego so much with the sun setting on a beautiful, clear night. I assume there's lotsa LA folks coming down. Am I right? Viejas Casino, who's putting on the shows there has deep pockets, so there's Morrissey billboards up all over town! Crazy...

Of course, afterwards.....

Official unofficial Morrissey afterparty w/Blasphemous Guitars' Moz mashups, 80's metal, Joe Jackson & more
June 3 2007 at The Casbah
2501 Kettner Blvd, San Diego, 92101 (only a mile or so from the Moz show)
Cost : 7 ($5 with Morrissey concert stub)

DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY! Thousands of Smiths fans running around downtown after the big Bayside show and ALL of them are squeezing into the Casbah for a "mostly Moz" set by Cover Me Badd's Blasphemous Guitars. Hear Morrissey classics like you've never heard 'em before: all mashed up with the Clash, Queen, James Brown & more! Early opening set by Joe & The Jacksons doing JJ classics, then awesome 80's metal tribute Way Cool Jr, the Blasphemous Guitars rock at 11:30, midget Smiths coverband Morrissette plays at midnight (unconfirmed) and the Smiths reunion should be around 12:30 (strong odds). Plus Tragic Tantrum does their creepycoolcabaret in the Atari Lounge in between acts! http://www.myspace.com/covermebadd http://myspace.com/waycooljrband http://myspace.com/tragictantrum

couldnt agree more. great summer venue. to one side you have the city skyline, boats & yachts... and to the other you have the ocean.

awww
please don't say that. I live in LA and i have tickets to the hollywood bowl, and i'd go to SD, but i wasn thinking i didnt wanna spoil my hollywood experience :( but now im rethinking it

I was sooo hoping for an after-party in at least one city I'm going to. And now this...YAY!! See you there!

Anything going on for Phx, Ventura, or Riverside?

Did San Diego sell out?

I doubt it. It's general admission and can probably hold 10,000.
I got a Ticketmaster email about it today...

Morrissey obviously loves us best since he did his first ever US show here. Never forget him opening with "Interesting Drug" which my friend guessed and I said "No way. It'll be Last Of The Famous...." Oops.

After hearing about how beautiful SD is am thinking the same way.Uggg!! Why don't I have unlimited money to spend on concert ticket's:p

I saw someone was selling tix on Craigslist saying it was sold out but no one else on Craigslist or Ebay was saying that so it's probably one of those less-than-truthful scalpers. Shock. I remember scalpers outside of an SF Giants game trying to get us to buy tickets blocks away from Candlestick saying it was sold out and when we got in, it was the least attended stadium event I've ever been to in my life.

Color me uninformed: 4,700 is the max capacity according to an article a couple of years ago. FYI, sound carries out of there and you can hear the show PERFECTLY from the comfort of a free bayside picnic. Then you can spend just $7 to see us at the afterparty. Sadly, the backing band's heading back to LA for their day off so they won't be able to make it but we're still expecting a full Smiths reunion around 12:30. Modest Mouse has a day off in between Spain and Italy so things are lookin' good!!

I'll be there, making the drive from L.A....can't wait...I saw the pics on the website and it looks beautiful...Was that the same place he played in 1997...I went to that one too but can't remember the name of the venue...It almost looks the same....Should be grand!!!!!

Okay, Im' convinced. I'm going to Drive to San Diego sunday too, since its my day off :) and im going to treat myself to my Mozzy. And I'm going to see Morrissey the Friday after at the Bowl too :)
I'm driving there alone though :( oh well. Im sure ill meet peeps.

Anyway, the show is at 7pm. Is it going to be cold? Since its so close to the ocean? and how are the sunsets in SD this time a year at 7? Dark or still sunny?
Any other info on the venue appreciated since ive never been. Thanks!

San Diego is always nice. I figure since it is next to the water it will be chilly but you'll also be in the middle of a big mass of people, so...bring a jacket???

I'm also driving from LA and trying to figure out when to get there to be up close. I've heard overnight and mid day, but most people seem to say early morning.

wow. over night? LOL.
ugh. i dont know. If I go alone im screwed, how am I suppose to eat and stay in line at the same time? and go pee, i need someone to wait in line wiht me, otherwise im f***ing screwed.

Poor you

I wish I was going to SD so that we could drive up there together since we're kind of neighbors here in this Liberal town. It's really going to suck for you if you end up going down there by yourself. :(

I'm in a similar situation going to Ventura by myself and standing in line by myself all f***ing day since my friend K won't get off work till 5pm and probably won't make it there till 7pm with all the horrible traffic on the 101. Hopefully there will be a kind soul there who will save my spot while I go get myself an iced soy latte every couple hours or I will die.

Maybe you should just kiss SD good bye and come to Ventura instead :);)

ANyway :( U should totally come to SD with me, pretty please? Its ten times nicer than wretched doll drum-ish Ventura. *puke*
