'My love, I'd do anything for you' - first impressions?

Some comments about the new song from YouTube:
  • Bloody brilliant, this album is shaping up to be something spectacular
  • Thanks so much for putting this up. Love it.
  • Brutalllllllllll!!!!!!!!
  • f***, I love it. Low in High School sounds like a combination of all of Mozza's albums. This has the piss and vinegar of Years of Refusal and Quarry, other songs have the intimacy and quietness of Ringleaders or Vauxhall (or Quarry), others have the fun spontaneity of Bona Drag or Viva Hate. There's even a bit of Kill Uncle in All The Young People Must Fall In Love. Can't wait now!

I've listened to the live versions only once as I'd rather wait to get the full album but what I've heard makes me enthusiastic about the project.

Fantastic.

First go at the lyrics:

Teach your kids
to recognize and despise
all the propaganda

Built to doubt (?)
by the dead echelon's (?)
mainstream media

[Chorus]
Hey hey hey
you know me well
my love I'd do anything for you
Society's hell
you need me just like I need you

Weren't we all (?)
born to mourn and to yawn at the occupation
that invades every day of our lives
we can't live with the waste (?)

[Chorus x 2]

We all go our own way
separately, in the same direction
And here am I
every night of my life
always missing someone

I'd like to be blotted out
just before I become aware of the pain.
The more I wish in my heart for someone
the less likely they come.

Lyrically speaking, the first verse is dreadful. ("propaganda", "mainstream media"-Enough already! We get it Moz-you don't like the news!). The chorus is ok (I like "Society's hell"), the final verses are very nice ("separately, in the same direction", "always missing someone", "I'd like to be blotted out", and "The more I wish in my heart for someone
the less likely they come" are all vintage Morrissey in the best way).

He is much better writing as a cynical romantic than as a misanthropic crank.

I really like the play on "occupation" "invad[ing] every day."

Home is a question mark and My love, I´d do anything for you are my favorites new tracks so far, I think Mando did an great job :)

Listening over it again, something about the chorus riff put me in the mind of "You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side," and now I'm musing over how Mick Ronson might have produced this number.

I read this and had to pause a little. Basically because MR was a good lad.
Occasionally a very small number of musicians make great producers - sometimes
this is by total accident - I'll be honest with you - and sometimes music is in their 'DNA' in the case
of MR. Morrissey was lucky to find MR available. But what you don't realize is that MR was lucky to
find and work with Morrissey and the excellent Boz Boorer. It's fascinating to watch how producers place various instruments and vocals in the mix.

first... THIS SONG :rock::rock::rock::rock::rock: !!!

Or 'Glamours Glue' that galloping blues glammed up riff (Jean Genie,Blockbuster, inspired by I'm a Man,etc).

Really like the disturbing vocal sample, nice touch.

M's vocal delivery reminds me of something Sonya from Echobelly does.

invade
we can't live as we wish.

So far, there are no duds in the new batch of songs, making me think that the new album will be enjoyable from start to end. Already liking it better than 'WPINOYB'. Curious about 'I Bury The Living' because of the length.

CAN'T WAIT !!! :D

also hoping that 'Back on the chain' got a studio treatment and will be released as a b-side.
