My assessment of "Spent the day in bed"

i have always maintained that spending the day in bed is really the patentlosung for weltschmerz. the bed is in a sense the ur-motif as a place of refuge.

Ha! Brilliant.

I'd venture that the bed is an Ersatz place of refuge. One can escape the Weltschmerz by staying in bed, but one cannot escape Realpolitik.
