Fiddle Sticks !

I was hoping for a top ten postition at least!

The double A-Side thing is always a crap idea and simply means the best track gets less airplay than it otherwise would do, which in turn decreases sales.
Even among Morrissey's staunchest supporters, 'Redondo Beach' has divided opinion, and I would suggest that despite the whimsical charm this song may have, 'There is a light...' is undoubtedly far superior and should have been released as a conventional A-Side.
If this would have been the case, Morrissey would have been looking at another top 5 success.

People aren't liking Redondo? Damn!

Wrong. We could hope he never gets into the charts again.

No, no, no…no no. What are you lot talking about?? The UK chart is just for shite performers with shite songs. Everytime Morrissey gets into the charts I just cringe. Remember last time??? He was held off the top two spots by “f*** you” and “f*** you right back” (or something like that)….. enough said.

The charts is for teeny boppers. Morrissey produces professional and intellectual music. Don’t go falling for all this chart crap… it proves nothing. It’s not even worth talking about.

it's not bad - fans are clearly divided on the release. But i say when was the last time a "live" single made the charts - was it oasis?

Shame, it was nearly Morrissey & Lemar back in the top 10.

.....and that sausage in high heels Mariah Scarey is back, what a trollop!

The charts died years ago anyway.

cheers.

It's actually a brilliant placing considering there's been no promotion whatsoever, no TV appearances, no radio play. It wasn't even stocked in Woolies.

All the other new entrants like Kylie, Rachel, Maria have been on every tv show going in order to bump up their placing. Plus they've been played on the radio.

I'm still a teeny bopper. It doesn't stop you liking good music.

This is true, I haven't heard it once on the radio. It was in Woolies though, I saw it before I'd got mine from HMV online. I do think the double A side is a mistake too, I don't care much for Redondo, despite how well he sings it, but I can't stop playing 'There is a Light', it's such a good version.

It's such a shame when people let themselves get old before their time.

Re: bugger. and i thought Maria Carey was on the scrapheap too?

I hope they don't play her crap video every half hour on MTV by you like they do here.

ahaa I wouldn't know about that. I don't watch MTV due to those annoying mobile phone tone adverts - do you get those? Crazy Frog and Chicky-wotsit. *I may be smalllllll, I may be sweeeeet, but baby I know how to use my feet. HIT IT!*

Last I heard, maria had been booted by her record company for being a washout, that's why I was surprised she got a higher entry than Moz. Takes all sorts I suppose. OK off up town to buy the DVD and CD and possibly fit some work in in-between. Can't wait to see you-know-who on the extras.
