perhaps he's used to writing in a calm, autobiographical way...you know, from all the practice writing his book!! which will be great if he ever gets to it.

I re-read it and I think it's very close to the way he would have said it in voice.
His early writing, actually, about Dean, is also slow, but a bit less clear.

Yeah, his book would be, obviously, crazy. I cannot picture myself disagreeing with any statements pronounced therein, simply for the way he would put them.
