I think I cried at the end of "Stand By Me". A little. I think I may have stifled a sob at the end of "Boyz N The Hood".

The only scene that always yanks at my heart strings enough to get the waterworks flowing is the ending of "The Color Purple". I mean, damn.

"Stand By Me" was barely worth a lump in the throat.

If you did not get weepy at least once during "Up", then you are not a human. You are a heartless robot.

This film made me decide to be an actor. That lasted a long time.

Was it the part where he said, "I wanna be a star. Stars don't fall from the sky, do they?" Yeah. That made me want to be a star, too, except for the fact that RV proved that stars DO fall from the sky. It's like saying the Hindenburg got you into balloons, or the Titanic into sailing.

Well, you're a chick. You've obviously never hiked for miles along a railroad track in search of a dead body with your two best buddies in junior high school. No, I never did either, but after "Stand By Me" I felt that I had. *sob*

No, step back one step. The theater full of sniffling GIs made me want the power to make people feel something they didn't feel before. So, not Ritchie Valens--Lou Diamond Phillips.

For example:

Damn, listen to you going on about the power of Art. You're not really James Lipton by any chance, are you? If not you've got your story when you go on the show. You know-- after you're famous for your Lou Diamond Philips impersonation. I hear it's an easy one. You just vanish into thin air.

For your information: the lady recalls the situation while marrying another man

The final scene of "City Lights" is a fantastic piece of acting, directing and one of the most moving scenes in cinema history.

Chaplin is very much underappreciated these days. His performance in these few minutes is the stuff of genius.

I cry at them both

Great thread!

The scene in Only Fools and Horses when Rodney gets married and Dell is left alone at the party just holding the little groom on top of the wedding cake and Holding Back the Years plays over the top (I would have ended the series there)

The first and last eposides of season two of the West Wing. If you have scene it you will know what I mean, if not, watch it.

Move On.
