Morrissey's new covers album - what do we know about it so far?

Various scraps of info have been released or leaked to date.
Let's bring them all together:
  • There are 12 songs
  • The regular band were holed up in the studio for 3 weeks with Joe Chiccarelli producing
  • One song appears to be a Tim Buckley cover with an orchestral arrangement (photo of the sheet music)
  • One might be a Klaus Nomi song (a cover by Steve has been registered on a website)
  • Two songs feature a lady called LP. We don't know if they're her songs but one might presume they're probably not
  • He might have covered Run Powell Run by Laurel Aitkin as the original record sleeve is currently on Morrissey Central website
  • We know he's recorded Back on the Chain Gang
So that is 6 songs out of the 12 potentially accounted for, although LP could potentially feature on two of the other songs above, meaning 4 might be known about.

Any more info?

Did you miss the official track listing posted on Morrissey Central? It contradicts at least 3 of those rumours.

We should really be focusing on the fact that Morrissey is being made into a Funko Pop.

For that matter wasn't there supposed to be a new album recorded in January? Have there been any posts to support that claim?

Ya'll reckon word is that The California Son has been learning to play and singing "Under the Bridge" during his weekly guitar lessons with John Frusciante at Sunset Sound. I reckon it would be top mental if The California Son played it on guitar and sang it on tour. I reckon Texas hick smelly Jesse would purposely f*** it up because he hates the fact that The California Son makes him live in Moz Angeles in n n din t in n n n it m8.

Yes, it came from his own approved interview in the first place.
The interview in Estadão (Oct, 31st, 2018):

"He announced that he will return to the studio in January to start recording a new album, the 12th solo career that began after the Smiths' demise."

This was the same article that mentioned reissues and California Son.

Obviously, if you follow the band's social media activities for January, you will see they are all doing their own thing.
So, probably no studio time this January.

FWD.

Are you retarded?

Little Dreamer by Jobriath would of been a much better one to cover.

I must say things are very quiet of late.
The album is supposed to be released in March. Yet no cover art, no new tour dates, no news of a single release.
Something fishy about that.

Weezers the White album went number four here in the us. Also there covers album is more of a fun silly record than California son will be

I agree.....also with all of the 2019 new Album previews in the post Christmas Music Magazine roundups...Q, Mojo, Uncut etc I didnt see any mention of Morrissey...and some of those previewed were very much "possible" 2019 releases...so a potential March release of California Son by BMG was a notable omission given the relative free promotion it could have served
