'Annie' is how Dubliner's pronounce 'any'. I guess being raised in a house with Irish parents has had an influence in his accent. I have a mate born and raised in Ireland but has traces of Scottish in his accent due to the fact that his parents are Scottish.

Most British people pronounce it "eny". I've heard loads of Irish people pronounce it the way Morrissey does, so it's logical to assume it comes from his Irish family.

Well there probably is a definite strong Irish influence on the American accent.

From what I gather nobody from Manchester pronounces it 'Annie' so I've always assumed it is through his parents. Strange considering that the Gallagher's have Irish parents and they are as Manc as they come.
