Morrissey statement on French election posted on Gustavo's Facebook

Link to Gustavo's Facebook post on May 4 posted by an anonymous person (original post):

"Last night Marine Le Pen easily won the French Election debate.

Today both the BBC and CNN say Macron won the debate.

This is precisely the reason why mainstream news media outlets cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Their private agendas are more important than facts, reality, or their duty to the people."

UPDATE 5:15PM PT:

Amendment added to original post (posted by Ed Wood):

AMENDMENT:

"My statement is that the mainstream media will not objectively or truthfully report on any figure who is not already a part of the political elite. Marine Le Pen is a perfect example of this.
She proves that the BBC or CNN are incapable of reporting without enforcing their own private agenda. Thus, the BBC and CNN do not actually provide news. Instead, they feed your their opinion which, in fact, no one has ever asked for. For example, today the BBC assures the world that 'the nation salutes Prince Phillip' when, factually, it would not be possible to find any nation anywhere that salutes Prince Phillip, or, if it were found, it certainly would not be England."

And so did a whole bunch of Germans and many other people...

Speaking of "Mozbots", you are one too. Don't think that you're not. You are. You can act like you're not one, but you are. Coming here reading, devouring every piece of information on The Great One that you can find on any given day. Otherwise, why would you be following him so closely?
People are sick of the left and their ineffectual bullshit. The left has had plenty of time to 'make things right' and FAILED OVER AND OVER AND OVER. "Action" is the middle name of people who will win future elections, no matter who they are, which makes for very dangerous times (possibly) depending on how you feel, you class system, your bank account, if you've been shafted--but race is the very last part of the deal. Close the borders. The hippy bullshit is over. "England for the English". "America for the Americans" and "Jail or Death for Terrorists, Criminal Losers Who Prey On The Innocents". The jig is up. A lot people agree with me and are too scared to say it publicly, I have the pulse of the people.

When you hide behind your computer screen, Morrissey is putting his name on the line. I'll take that over your bullshit any day, any day, any day...

Hitler's only mistake was he was hoping for too much...otherwise, Europe was in deep shit.

"When you hide behind your computer screen," you typed furiously.
I don't know why you're so angry or what exactly you're trying to say. Are you saying that Morrissey is right wing and would support a leader like Hitler? Are you saying that the next Hitler will win the war? Are you saying this is a good thing? I'm confused. How is anyone supposed to win another world war? Russia has a "doomsday device," a system designed to destroy the rest of the planet even after their population is annihilated. Israel has a device that has a similar purpose. There is no winnable nuclear war, no "limited nuclear war."
I see the world becoming increasingly leftist and it's fear from those being left behind that allows people like Trump to take power.
Anyway I appreciate your post and what you seem to be saying about your perception of what Morrissey allegedly said and what it means. I don't think what he says matters that much but I do think that the Mozbots need to confront the reality of it if it's a true statement.
Have a map. It's Mars but maybe if Trump doesn't cause another world war we can have colonies there in a few decades.

I was referring to Morrissey putting himself out there. I am actually known if you're clever enough. I am not hidden.

I don't know why you're so angry or what exactly you're trying to say.
I don't think I'm angry, if I seem that way, it's because of the whole potshot effect of referring to a whole bunch of people as "Mozbots" when you don't actually even know them. It's kind of how racist people refer negatively to entire races. It's ill-conceived and lazy. Not to mention, boring and overused. I would challenge you to pick a new word.

Are you saying that Morrissey is right wing and would support a leader like Hitler?
No. That's silly. But if he did, who are you to judge? You refer to people as "Mozbots", maybe you think all Mozbots should be gassed?

Are you saying that the next Hitler will win the war? Are you saying this is a good thing? I'm confused.
You do seem very confused. Maybe lay off the drugs for a bit. I don't remember saying anything like this and I just went back to read what I wrote and yeah, I didn't say anything even remotely close to what you got out of it. Nevertheless, I'll answer your questions. Yes, a Hitler type person could come into power, some say Trump already has, although I don't believe Trump is even close to Hitler, although he's now showing signs. Do I think it would be a good thing? To exterminate Jews? Probably not. To get some sort control over the borders? PERHAPS. To take care of terrorists properly? YES. And a myriad of other issues. This doesn't make me right wing and I'm not left, I'm neither. I don't have to choose "sides" like grade school. I call'em like I seem them. At some point, something needs to be done. America cannot keep going around the world policing, countries need to stand up for themselves or pay us for our services. Trump is right about that. La Pen wants to protect her borders and people think she is racist because of this, I don't think so. The same thing happens in America to people who want the borders protected, they are immediately tagged racist. That is complete bullshit. It goes on, but I hope you get my meaning.

You're getting a head of yourself. Technology is the key. The winner will be the ones who can technologically disable the other guy's weapons while launching their own. Don't be fooled by old Cold War Games. Those days are over. World War III is probably coming in some form, but it won't be what you expect. Having said that, as we age, it won't matter because we've lived our best years anyway, so "please come, come come, nuclear bomb..."

Anyway I appreciate your post and what you seem to be saying about your perception of what Morrissey allegedly said and what it means. I don't think what he says matters that much but I do think that the Mozbots need to confront the reality of it if it's a true statement.
I appreciate your post as well. Let me say this clearly: I do not speak for Morrissey in any way, shape or form. Most of the time, Morrissey comes off very very left wing to me. I have not "alleged" anything at all, other than my own opinion. I will say this, and I can understand why fans would, let's say "pause" when finding certain things out about Morrissey, or what they "think" they know about Morrissey, if I may: Well, let's take his own words, and I'm paraphrasing here, but something to the effect of that he finds it interesting giving audiences what they DON'T want. This might be a transvestite opening act, skinhead imagery backdrop, or perhaps a message about the Media FAILING to recognize that La Pen won the debate easily via his keyboardist. Morrissey is way over our heads. If you're a casual fan, not paying attention: A. You'll miss a lot. B. You'll probably be offended a lot and confused. C. The deeper you go, the more dangerous it gets which makes HIM all the more exciting. At least, that's my two cents.
I can remember in the 90s being very concerned and put off by the skinhead imagery. I did not know what to think of it but I was very forgiving. It was very dangerous. Some people like this danger, I did not at the time. As I've grown older, I love the danger. And that's generally what Morrissey is doing, he's dangerous, which, is what he's ALWAYS been from the very beginning. Meat Is Murder was a dangerous statement to make in the 80s. The Queen Is Dead...Margaret On The Guillotine...National Front Disco....and it goes on... This is Morrissey...NOT George Michael, Depeche Mode, U2 or Genesis, people.

Have a map. It's Mars but maybe if Trump doesn't cause another world war we can have colonies there in a few decades.
I'll pass on the map. This is ridiculous. Living on Mars in my lifetime is pointless, but by all means, you can go there! :thumb:

I watched it in the original French in its entirety and thought Le Pen mopped the floor with him.

To see the following morning the consensus across the entire media that Macron had won hands down reminded me very much of the last US election.

Don´t find anything that saying Morrissey support Le Pen. He does say, don´t trust the media and the authorities - what else is new?

When I say liverpool played better than United in their last game, doesn't by any means tell that I support Liverpool in anyway.

But if you're saying that when Liverpool lost 5-1, there's something going on.

For the brain dead like Hugh on facebook who can't figure this all out. Morrissey doesn't trust the media and has a strong dislike towards the Royals.

I would be very interested in reading from Morrissey exactly what aspects of Le Pen's debate convinced him that she had won. That is what his 'friend' from the band really needs to relay...

Which is as it should be, but I would remind you the Brits made their own minds up about Brexit and the Americans made their own minds up about Trump and have been vilified hourly since by a complicit and compromised Western media swathes of which supported the opposing position.

This morning the French electoral commission - a non-judicial body - threatened criminal charges against anyone disseminating the leaked Macron emails, and curiouser still the BBC have said they too have to comply with the "request".

Let's just clarify that. The British Broadcasting Corporation based in London feel they are bound by French electoral law made in Paris. Now why is that? When I go to the supermarket later on I'm not required by law to drive on the right.

Fact: The BBC continue to receive millions in subsidy from the EU.

And if we stick to the debate we're talking about? Who will be making the decision about the candidates?

"By Saturday, a trail of digital crumbs appeared to tie the attack on Mr. Macron’s campaign to Russian hackers. Forensics specialists found that one of the leaked Excel documents from Mr. Macron’s campaign had been modified on a Russian version of Excel, and edited on Russian-language computers.

One document had last been modified by a Russian user named Roshka Georgiy Petrovich. Mr. Petrovich, 32, an employee of the Moscow-based Eureka CJSC, a Russian technology company, did not immediately return emails requesting comment. Eureka CJSC’s clients include several Russian government agencies.
"

The bigger picture here is that Putin funded hackers to fuck up the Brexit vote, fund UKIP, Wikileaks (for whom Farage acted as a courier), the far right in France, the USA, and Assad.

But specifically on the Morrissey point - a man who hails Farage as a 'liberal educator' and said he could have voted UKIP, it's really no surprise he takes time out of his day to say Le Pen has been unfairly treated. This is not a point about unfairness of the media. He could have kept his gob shut. He has shown his support, yet again, for racists funded by Putin. I do note, that some will come back and point out that Moz has noted his disdain for Trump too. He's a little confused.

That's not fact, it's propaganda. The BBC doesn't get an EU subsidy. It does consultancy work for UK Local Authorities, some of which the Local Authorities pay for with grants they get from Brussels. But the amount, in the scheme of the BBC's overall budget, is just loose change, not enough to realistically affect its editorial stance. The risk of BBC employees based in France facing criminal charges is probably more relevant.

I just watched the debate, too. In French. I have come to the conclusion that the person whose points I agree with is the one who I think has won the debate.

Oh BTW, one thing that Le Pen and Morrissey definitely have in common is their penchant for Pastis.

I was hoping the farage incident would be an anomaly but it's is starting to seem like a trend. He could have made his point about the media without declaring le pen the winner which says a lot more about him than thinking the post debate coverage biased. Saying he only sees positive macron coverage with no one voicing the other sides opinion says something about how he feels towards the media but declaring le pen an obvious winner says to something about how he feels about le pen and what she had to say
