Morrissey-solo upgraded to Xenforo 2.1

Welcome to the upgraded Morrissey-solo, we're now on the latest Xenforo software at version 2.1. Some things may appear the same but under the surface almost everything has changed. Take a look around and if you have any questions or find any bugs please post in this thread. I have incorporated some of the requests and suggestions that have been made on the site but after spending some time with it keep sending feedback.

Some of the new features include 'reactions' which replaces the old ratings system. New options with posts include native emoji support, improved media recognition and improved mobile support. If you want to hide anonymous posts by default that option is now an option in preferences. Emails from the site haven't been working for the last week or so for a different reason, that's being worked on.

This was a major research and development effort over the last year on my end and over the last 5+ years on the Xenforo / add-on developer end. This will set up ease of upgrading in the future and potentially a lot of new features.

Thanks to all who continue to support Morrissey-solo in a positive way. Special thanks goes to @Famous when dead for stepping up to help with the news and tour coverage. I was able to focus on getting this big upgrade done.

I love the fact that I can safely post things now knowing that no one here reads them having anons like me on ignore.

Thanks David for all you do.

I have appreciated this site since before the beginning. I put my money where my mouth is as well - I subscribe. If you are a regular - you should consider doing so.

Remember during those dark times, those wilderness years, it was this site that kept the light on...

I like the new "Wow" option. I can see using that for Aztec's posts. :p

I think there should be as many rating options as emojis! Not enough gradation here. Instead of just "like" or "dislike" a "disagree" option would be nice, or "really?". Some less anger inducing options to help soften the edges.

WTF???? Barnaby you want as many RATING OPTIONS as EMOJIS??!!!?
AND you want to wussify everything turning this into a fuddy duddy forum for the benefit of Moz hater trolls?????
?

Just you Skinny, his many pseudonyms, and Fake Chameleon.?‍♂️
Maybe time to take a :pill: Barnaby.

More than a few more may be a bit overwhelming but I'm open to suggestions and if there is strong demand for a specific one. These are where the main reactions come from, see if any fit the rating you would like:

Not the first, but thanks again David for putting so much of your effort and energy into this site. As you see from many of the posters, it is truly appreciated.

Off the top of my head looking at the link the "thinking" icon and something to replace "interesting" and "insightful" would be nice.

It's taking me a little time to familiarise myself with the new site. On the whole I'd give it a thumbs up.

Was hoping that finally I could be able to delete my account. But that seems still not to be possible, is that correct?

It would be great if the website stated which moderator is currently monitoring the forum.

The upgrade does nothing to solve the ever increasing issue with mods who refuse to publish posts even when they do not violate any rules of this website.
I have posted at least two posts today that were not published. Obvious that one or more mods are not doing their job and fail to stay neutral and are unable to do what they are to do.
David with his well known love for free speech has hired some people who are censoring posts not by following the rules but through what they think of a post themselves.
Is it impossible to have moderators that are completely unbiased?
Do we only have socialist moderators and is there time for a pro Trump right wing moderator to even things up and create a forum that actually works as it should?
David?

If you want your posts to appear right away you need to create an account. You are lucky any of your posts get published at all.

Well done. Thanks, David, for all you do to keep us coming back here.

Lucky should never come into it. Either one abides by TOS or not. The answer seems to imply that decisions are made on a whim.
My rude posts were approved but one about a tv show wasn't.

You violated TOS so any of your posts can be removed.
