Morrissey letter to fellow NY Dolls UK fan club member (July 14, 1977)

Here's an old Morrissey letter that I obtained a while back-- I thought it might be of interest on the site. Moz wrote this to a fellow member of the NY Dolls UK fan club-- about a year after he had seen the Sex Pistols play their famous gig in Manchester.

On the reverse of the envelope he has scrawled "NO FUN" in large green letters-- mostly likely a reference to the Iggy song.

That's because he either 1.) dictated everything to Damon from the couch OR 2.) has Dragon Software.

Duh.

I could see him on the couch with a drink while damon types out everything he says.

Did he superscript music notes in his early signature? (That's so f***ing cute if true.)

Why would Morrissey begin a 1977 Northern English postal letter with 'Hi Matt!'. Almost everybody would write 'Dear Matt' wouldn't they? And Morrissey is rather traditional. In the early 90's I would have written 'Hello Matt' in emails because 'Hi' was alien at that time. Unless Morrissey wanted to appear American. I guess he was receiving international post from other fan clubs.
