Morrissey's worldview "I'm for plain text"

"Morrissey praises the Brexit referendum, defends Kevin Spacey and calls Berlin a "rape capital" because of its open borders. seriously?"

Whether the Briton Steven Patrick Morrissey, 58, a musician just Morrissey calls, now Genius is or Schrat, self-actor or choleric poet, will probably never settle final. Certainly the man from Manchester, who became famous in the eighties as a singer of pop band The Smiths, is a great eccentric of pop. Whether concert or interview, he maintains the pose of the diva. The meeting took place on the occasion of his new album "Low in High School" in Los Angeles; It was arranged at very short notice and then postponed several times, domination gestures want to be maintained. After all, Morrissey is ready to talk. However, the photographer is referred by one of his managers rude of the room: "Get out of my hotel!" The Polaroid photo was taken by the interviewer.

    An interview with Juliane Liebert

SPIEGEL: Mr Morrissey, in your new song "Spent the Day in Bed", you recommend that you no longer see any news. A serious proposal?

Morrissey: Yes. People should stop doing so for their own sanity. You have to stop. The news is just social engineering, and it's about control, not information. There are no more messages. Only control.

SPIEGEL: That sounds like Trump's fake news, but you just spoke out against Trump at a concert.

Morrissey: Trump has received so much attention, especially when compared to other candidates - Bernie Sanders, for example. Although the media said he will not win, every day, all the headlines: Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump! The American media helped Trump, yes, they first created it. Whether they criticize him or laugh at him, he does not care, he just wants to see his picture and his name. The American media have shot themselves in the leg. Since he was in power, he has exhausted the world. He grabs after everything like a little child. He is not a leader. He is a vermin. A huge vermin.

SPIEGEL: Do you think that he will be re-elected?

What a vile interview. And how depressing that right-wing hate mongerers like Shyness Is Nice and Viva Hate seem to form an increasingly outspoken part of his diminishing fanbase.

For years I have found it a shame, that Morrissey doesn't give proper interviews anymore. Well, now he did, and this is a disaster. Faced with semi-intelligent questions face to face for the first time in years he shows his true ignorance and contradictory nature. "If you want respect, you have to protect your country"? Well, how does that rhyme with the message of I Bury The Living? And Who Will Protect Us From The Police? So suddenly armies and the police are a good thing? And no wonder that the interviewer ends the discussion immediately after the comment about millions dying for German identity, since that thing is a very touchy subject in a country, where the last quest for German identity killed millions of non-Germans too.

The parts about Kevin Spacey and disappointed actresses are totally unpalatable too. The number of accusations against Spacey show what kind of a person he really is and nobody needs to hear him defended by somebody who has never even met the guy.

Yesterday I tried to buy LIHS, but it hadn't yet arrived to my local record shops in Helsinki. I have had the promo for a while but wanted the real thing. Now I'm quite relieved that the postman was late yesterday. This will indeed be the first Morrissey album ever I won't be buying. (And don't say that it doesn't matter to him, because the moron is obsessed with record sales).

i dont think morrissey is saying the chid is to blame, at least that's not how i read it. how i read it is morrissey is questioning the truthfulness of the adult the child became, because the whole thing to him doesnt make sense. that's why he said it lacks credibility.

You're a fucking idiot. A racist idiot. And someone who happily casts aside what happens behind the doors of every abattoir every second of every day, because it suits you to defend this racist fool.

I love it that Moz speaks his mind and doesnt give a fuck who he upsets. Pretty much agree with everything he says on Spacey. The whole thing has become a witch hunt - when did we go back to Victorian values on sex? When I was a teenager someone grabbing your crotch was a good night out. I dont agree with everything Moz says on immigration but I respect his right to say it - there is very much a media agenda and message that multiculturalism is great and we should all embrace it. Moz clearly doesnt share that message - he and millions of others - but that view is almost completely absent from mainstream media. Europe is going down the pan and we ignore that at our peril...

      The parents.
I know they can’t guard their child 24 hrs. a day but come on 14 yrs old he should be at home or they should at least know where he was going.

      He is a child.
I thought Moz mentioned the parents as first being responsible for takin care of their kid as he was trying to understand why and how and comparing it to when he was 14 yrs old.

YEAH! Let's get real about sexual assault - let folk in power grab who the hell they like, regardless of whether they asked for it. And FUCK IMMIGRANTS! Yeah! How dare we have compassion for those in need.

the problem with multiculturalism is that it leads to it's opposite: homogeneity. the more intertwined and interbred we all become the more we become the same, until eventually all humans will be one mochaccino hued dark haired race with no distinctive culture. there's nothing wrong with those things but what about difference? people who love difference are all about multiculturalism but it seems to me that if you love difference you'd want to preserve the different races and cultures the way they are.

      Yes, I said that already.
Is it strange to ask which friends?
      Is it really so strange?

By the way, as far as I know parents are legally responsible for their child.

If you are going to put another human being on this happy planet than you should develop a bond of trust with it and to love them and taking care of them until they are able to take care for themselves.

      Old fashioned isn’t it?
      I don’t have any kids.

old fashioned? no, i would say that's very modern. go back 100, 200 years. children were going off to war. there was no such thing as this prolonged adolescence that we have these days.

There are actually people posting on here JUSTIFYING SEXUAL ASSAULT to shore up Morrissey's comments. And there are people who don't like that being pointed out.

There are people who know he hates immigrants, who know sexual assault is illegal and wrong, and yet still post/vote in support of the man. What is going on your brain?

Different races don’t exist and cultures never stay the same but the idea of globalism and mix all cultures and everything will turn out fine is the left wing delusional and ideological dream which will turn into a nightmare.

Wir schaffen das nicht Frau Merkel.
And the robots are coming which will leave many people without a job.
Only to get those thousands of people training and education will be a hell of a job. If they ARE able to adjust

How can we possibly have so much more people from completely different cultures and give them the same?
      It’s not going to work.o

I think more people are starting to realise the problem is getting worse (they certainly do in private) civil war will be the only option if the government doesn't stop it.
