Morrissey goes to the Trafford Centre

Well, we know he likes candles.

Remember his rider from Israel?
"A quality natural-scent candle: for example, figs, green tea, orange blossom or vanilla."

Still 400 pounds is an awful lot of candles.

Thanks for the info.

not if they are £70 each it isnt. :lbf:
(which im assuming they were being that it was a 'high end' store)

they dont point out the garlic and onions issue though..oh wait "doesnt eat any spices"...
in tomato sauces for noodles often they add garlic and onions to it though..

i remember reading one journalists account commenting (1995)how hot it is on morrissey`s room as he likes to have the heating on high

A family friend, who works in a concession in an upmarket department store in the Trafford Centre, has told me that Morrissey shopped there last week! I have no reason to doubt my friends story, but realise they may be mistaken... They said that Morrissey was returning an expensive vase - that's how they realised - they asked for name etc, for return, and he said Mr M... He then bought £400 worth of candles!

A people say he's not gay. Jesus.

it is indeed
but found this:
shops themselves are mostly high street unless for a number of specialised ones which are worth while going into.Beautiful candle shops and childrens clothes shops (very expensive)

and
Jo Malone sells some lovely things and the staff are very nice but they are very very expensive and personally I cannot justify over £50 for a candle no matter how nice it is.

That is interesting.

Jo Malone has both the small candles at $35.00/24 pounds or the mega smellies for $345/220 pounds. Those have four wicks.

So, if he spent 400 pounds, he either he got 18 of the little ones or two of the larger ones.

Ah, now I can sleep at night.

God 400 on candles. Thats my budget for two months after rent. The joys of working for tesco!

oh dont make me even more depressed by making me visualise morrissey having it off with someone else..

I hope for Morrissey that these candles were not meant to be a wedding present, because otherwise he might have to return them like the vase. What else could he give them? I don't know. Maybe a collection of signed Morrissey albums?

Those candles last for 60-80 hours and thus a little longer than the cheaper ones.

Which "friend" of Morrissey has just announced he's getting married?!?

Hope this doesn't spoil the surprise.

My friend suggested that he might've bought them for a party. It's conceivable that that many candles could create the ambiance for a nice dinner or something. And she said he most likely has a ginormous house. :o

Could you please ask your friend what kind of vase he was returning?
'Expensive' isn't really telling that much.

I work at the Trafford Centre, but he turns up on a week when I'm away on holiday!

Aaaargh!

I'm guessing he went to Lewis's, as they sell that sort of stuff.
