... OK, so he's alive. But what does "stable" REALLY mean? :[

it probably means he did not have a heart attack and perhaps he simply fainted or some very good news of that sort.

A spokesman for the Great Western Ambulance Service said: “Just after 9pm we got a call to a 50-year-old man who was reported to be reported to be suffering from respiratory problems and was unconscious.

“We sent a paramedic in a doubled-crewed ambulance.

“When they arrived they found a conscious patient who was not feeling well at all. They made an initial assessment and took him to the Great Western Hospital for further assessment.”

A spokesman for the hospital said: "Morrissey has been admitted to the Great Western Hospital. He is being reviewed by the medical staff and his condition is stable."

Does anybody know if Morrissey is an asthmatic? That's all I can think of, that it could have been an asthma attack.

Re: OMG!! Morrissey collapsed on stage - Swindon

So he's stable...but in what bracket? You could be critical but stable, for instance....

Clinicians find the "critical but stable" term useful when discussing cases amongst themselves because it helps them differentiate patients who are expected to recover from those whose prognosis is worse. But a critical condition means that at least some vital signs are unstable, so this is inherently contradictory. The term "stable" should not be used as a condition. Furthermore, this term should not be used in combination with other conditions, which by definition, often indicate a patient is unstable.

No,if you're stable it would be the first sign of recovery.

So he's regained consciousness and is stable, that's good.

I'm so worried I feel sick.
