Morrissey Central: "MORRISSEY, THE MIDDLE EAST." (December 3, 2019)

"To Morrissey, With Love" is the name of a photography exhibition opening on Friday 6th December at the Elham Art Gallery in the city of Ras Al Khaimah in United Arab Emirates. Elham Gallery has stated:

" (this) response from us at the gallery, and the artistic community in Ras Al Khaimah, is because we have been following with shock and concern the unjustified hate campaigns from media towards Morrissey. We have decided to stand by Morrissey, as his Muslim friends, to acknowledge that we are aware of him as a true and passionate friend, and to tell the world that we know he's not our enemy or hater, and we dedicate a group exhibition to him as thanks for being brave against this cruel and hypocritical world."

The Gallery also state that no animal products will be available at the Exhibition.

If I was in charge of Morrissey's pr, Anon, everything currently on his social media would be taken down, his websites would be redesigned & the newsletter that claims to exist, would actually exist.

Then I would build his content around highlighting the major themes in his work, animals & the environment & throwing subtle shade at his enemies. And I would make the tone, chatty, lyrical, funny & macabre. Beyond that I'd be building contacts & alliances in real life in the hopes of future good press, while encouraging him to socialise & get involved.

& I'd sort his image. I like the retro 70s thing he's been doing, it just needs refined.

The great thing about Moz, is that while he's the original 4Chan incel, he's also the original nonbinary demisexual tumblrina, so there's plenty of scope for provocation without getting bogged down in turgid & unwinnable fights over halal/the law.

He hasn't clutched any - he says what he says, people get mad, he gets mad & bewildered, on it goes forever. It's more interesting that the racist narrative appeals so strongly that it gets so much coverage & that some fans/detractors spend so much time labeling him with it.
