Think it's quite common for headline acts to get input into the lineup, particularly who immediately precedes them.I distrust anyone who can't even spell Morrissey.
Lol.
Again, California Son charted at number 4 in the UK. None of the tracks on that album were written by Morrissey and it still charted at number 4. Click that bloody Wikipedia link and see for yourself that California Son charted at number 4.
Did I mention enough times that California Son charted at number 4?
Because more if his fans are still agile/alive. Blondie are in their 70's, Morrissey is 60.
How many huge selling albums are you expecting Morrissey to have in the next 14 years?
Which album dropped out of the top 100 fastest? Morrissey
Which album stayed in the top 100 longest? Blondie.
Facts people! Just look at those delicious facts!
Available here: just search Morrissey or Blondie
Nah, it will certainly not be his last. But after three records within 3 years a new album will be a longer wait this time.
2023 or 2024 maybe.
There will always be interest in releasing a new Moz-album, he is a legend.
Wait a minute, Blondie was hugely successful in the 80s, but then they disappeared from the spotlight for such a long time. Perhaps their reunion was one of the least expected due to their age, but definitely nice.
Morrissey in contrast has always been around as a performing artist, still drawing decent crowds at concerts including younger people.
Maybe there will be record company interest to release new Morrissey music at the occasion of his 70th or 75th birthday, when enough time has passed and the world has forgotten about his stupidities.
I think 2023 or 2024 s fairly optimistic.
For those willing to separate the music from the man, better to enjoy the musc now, while we still have a chance.
If the album is a success (commercially) then it won't be problem for future record companies. But it seems that the previously Morrissey-friendly radio stations are refusing to play any of the new songs (to date at least) which will reduce its commercial success considerably. Furthermore, about 50-60% of the UK fan-base (for concerts at least) seems to have deserted him, incensed by his decision to publicly and unambiguously endorse a far-right political party, and cheer on the likes of Farage and Robinson.
He needs to issue a statement and retract that support, pretty urgently. He is not a genuinely right-wing person - he was simply drawn in to supporting these clowns (For Britain) because the singer is a gay vegan feminist.
I think they disappeared due to Chris Stein's illness.
Yes, they are nasty pieces of work if not evil.@Surface and @Phranc & Open actually finding this funny?? Somebody wishing death upon Morrissey and his fans? The Chapman brigade in all its bitter glory...
The UK is not the world.Nope, it's just his recording career that's in jeopardy, and his biggest problems are in the UK. He can keep going for years playing live on the nostalgia circuit albeit to smaller crowds than he's been used to. Credit where due, it's impressive that he's been asked to headline the Cruel World festival - there's no way a similar sized festival in the UK would have him top of the bill.
That isn't an argument!
Gotta be honest. f***ing loving these pointless arguments tonight! I don't know, I'm just in that mood! Anyway...
Who cares how long it was in the charts? Fact is, you said (at least, I think it was you) that Blondie charted higher. It didn't. They both charted at number 4. And, if I'm correct, that's the sixth time I've typed that today! Another fact!

If Morrissey made a left-wing statement saying For Britain is bad and immigration is good, you’d all agree. None of you have opinions, you just agree with Morrissey. Stop pretending otherwise. Also, stop pretending to BE Morrissey. I mean, I’m sure you’re awful, but better to be yourself than pretending to be that insane c***.
Numan has an adequate wig. Morrissey never had one. Last thing I remember musically: "Are friends electric". Yes, I am that old....and bald.
Blondie is an interesting marketing case - cool new wave band in Europe but seen as uncool sell-outs in the USA at their peak.
I think Moz benefited from flying under the radar & being so unpredictable.
Lies again,p?
Thewlis does not post his "own facts" on a daily basis,if at all.
Twat.
Blondie have not headlined at Glastonbury
Is that a reference to Sylvia Plath? If so, wrong place.
Speaking of Plath, if you or anyone here hasn't read The Journals of, then do. Then read Ted Hughes' Birthday Letters. Just staggering.
Proof once and for all that this is reelfountain. There’s no way that two separate people have this delusional, retarded idea of Morrissey.Yes, Morrissey is a celibate asexual.
He's also a Christian.
So eat that.
