Miley Cyrus now wants to be taken off the song ‘I Am Veronica’ for which she volunteered backing vocals almost two years ago. This comes at a time when Morrissey has disassociated himself with Capitol Records (Los Angeles), who control the hidden album ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’.

I have thought Miley Cyrus needs to tone it down and put some clothes on for a long time, it doesn't have anything to do with Morrissey and this controversy. I think it's horrible that girls get sexualized at such a young age, she was pretty young when she started acting like this. It is not sexual liberation to teach a girl that her only worth is her sexuality just because gashonthenail says it is. He was arguing last week that sexual assault is a fun night out.

Please point out where I suggested that sexual liberation = teaching a girl her only worth is her sexuality.
I simply suggested that sexually liberated women tend to get judged more harshly than sexually liberated men. As demonstrated by your post.
I´m fine with people choosing to behave sexually how they want to behave. Young people feeling coerced to be sexually promiscuous is as bad as young people feeling coerced to be sexually represssed. Freely available porn though may be more important on this topic than Miley Cyrus.
I´m not religious so I make no moral judgment about men or women being sexually liberated. Any more than I would place moral worth on someone being celibate or monogamous. There may be some social, maybe psychological, benefit to the latter - but moral, nah.
There is an interesting argument in sociology and feminism these days about which is better for society - and whether sexual liberation has actually been harmful for women and beneficial for men. That´s an argument about social impact and bringing up children etc. I think morality though is best kept out of the argument. But Puritianism clearly runs deep in the UK and the USA.
