Mike Joyce "jail and bail event" for the British Red Cross (Dec. 1)

Press release:

Strangeways here he comes

Fans of The Smiths have a chance to be locked up with ex-band member Mike
Joyce for a few hours as part of a unique fundraising experience taking place in Manchester’s Northern Quarter this December.

The British Red Cross is holding a ‘jail and bail event’ on December 1 and in return for raising as much as possible for the charity, fans can have the opportunity to be locked up with one of their all time heroes and raise money for a good cause at the same time.

The event is taking place at the Manchester Police Museum. On arrival guests will be welcomed and booked in by a police sergeant. Fingerprints will be taken and crimes noted! Guests will then be escorted to the genuine 1895 courtroom and put on trial for their crimes. They will be then sent down to spend time in the authentic police cells where Mike will be among the inmates. On their release, guests will be treated to a drinks reception and the chance to hear more about the work of the Red Cross.

It will be the second time this year that Mike, who is also a regular on BBC6 Music, has agreed to help the Red Cross and we are very grateful for his support. Earlier this year Mike auctioned some rare items included an iconic limited edition photograph and a signed snareskin for the charity’s Japan appeal.

Mike says: “The event sounds like a bit of fun and it’s all for a good cause so I’m very happy to help. I’m not quite sure what I’m going to be put on trial for yet but I’m sure my mates will have a few suggestions. I hope that we’ll get a good turn out and raise lots of money for the British Red Cross.”

Senior community fundraiser Toni Kennedy says: “We can’t thank Mike enough for agreeing to support our event. It promises to be a really fun event and hopefully we’ll raise thousands of pounds for our work both here in the UK as well as overseas.”

Places are limited for the event. People wanting to register should contact Toni Kennedy on 0161 888 8914 or email [email protected]

He still looks more or less the same compared to the other band members with pizza faces resembling a dish wash cloth.

In that picture he gives the old skinhead in polo top pose a great comeback. Just the killer dog missing really.

Urban Sweden (watching Jerry Springer to get to know more about America)

Sad son,

He is plumber. No fashion skinhead Perry polo conection in whatsoever form.

we'll let you know

Sad son (of course),

If you cannot see the skinhead polo top pose in that picture then there is no hope for you. He is no skinhead but he used the classic pose and flirts with it.

Some people get so upset whenever skinheads are discussed and that is because you got beat up by them for being a paki.

Urban in Sweden (not tolerating political correct idiots since nineteen sixty hate)
