Bristol based act Massive Attack are set to curate this year's Meltdown Festival on London's South Bank. During Meltdown they will take over all 21 acres of Southbank Centre - including the riverside, Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall - for nine days of concerts, DJ sets, talks, films, and visual art. The event takes place between June 14 and 22 and the line-up for Massive Attack's Meltdown will be announced soon.

The band follows in the footsteps of previous directors such as John Peel, Robert Wyatt, Scott Walker, David Bowie, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Morrissey, Patti Smith and Jarvis Cocker. More Massive Attack news in the next weeks as the band is expected to release their first studio album in 5 years.

I don't think Jane Birkin will appearing Massive Attack's Meltdown because she's on Morrissey's.

Pity last year Jarvis wanted to have Lenard Cohen, but he turned it down.
