Re:George Formby isn't he from Wigan or Warrington how does he count??

Re: Gracie Fields was from Greater Manchester I think??

Mozzer is from Stretford which is Trafford, therefore Greater Manchester.
But I think will all see him as coming from Manchester.

Re: I know it sounds sad it isn't a Punk song or nothing but I love 'Dirty Old Town'!!!!

It is about Salford I think. Ewan MacColl who isn't really a Mancunian but never mind.
Better than "Matchstick men and Matchstick cats and dogs" about Lawry.

Manchester or the surrounding area.

try a map reading course dear! Joy Division are the only ones not from the surrounding area aka Greater Manchester eh! But I did mention it. & anyway rather than just critize the geography why don't you put up & shut up your own top 10. Oh & the Isle Of Man (just because it's got Man in it) isn't near Manchester at all btw (bee gees) but one of the Monkees was born in Manchester.

Re: Manchester or the surrounding area.

I see Wigan on the map - is it considered greater Manchester?

Maybe I can have some Verve and The Railway Children (Factory period only!!!!)

I saw TRC at The Africa Center in Covent Garden - I was standing right next to Hooky!
