Doesn't that sound a bit like....you?
but i understand. it's a bit different when you don't have a DVD player.

he might as well release spoken word albums then.

i was indeed messing with you. you don't actually think he would write such a thing, do you? no sane person would actually pick up an album and think, "hey, i don't know him personally, but i'll bet there is a song about ME on here."
Somnium, if that were the case, I would have hundreds of albums by every band I didn't know, listening to them night and day, hoping even more bands found out how cool I was and decided I needed a song in my honor.
Although, I'm disappointed in Belle and Sebastian's lack of timely response :^)
But isn't there something about it's double meaning. I read an interview in the NME right when it came out about how the song was about waiting for someone to tap in and understand. Generally, people who don't hover over the keyboard for any length of time write those sorts of things. From my personal experience, people who don't spend beaucoup de temps squinting at the screen think that those who do it out of personal need are crazy. I could be wrong. He could spend all of his time reading alt.bondage and decided that it needed a song in it's honor, but how much lonelier do you think it is when you are reading a newsgroup dedicated to yourself and you notice that most of them there have the wrong idea?
As I said, I think Morrissey loves to be the hidden chameleon, constantly spying and finding out what people are up to, and what better way than to jump on the computer and make up a silly handle? David Tseng could already pick him out of a line-up by his...aughh, i've completely forgotten the word for the number that computers leave as a fingerprint....but you know what i mean.
You said this place was a wasteland, and Morrissey might be agreeing with you.
