Looking for Greetings To The New Brunette

As a standard issue in 1986 it was just 7" & 12", I'm afraid - http://www.billybragg.co.uk/releases/singles/index.html

But there were promos re-released around the time of Reaching the the converted in 1999 http://www.billybragg.co.uk/releases/miscellaneous/index.html I've got one. I'll need to check to see if I have a spare...

Keep an eye out on ebay - there's one at the moment http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BILLY-BRAGG-R...s_GL?hash=item56265b5e54&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Well worth it for 'Walk Away Renee" I think Johnny played on that

Thanks everyone, just bagged Reaching For The Converted from Ebay, which just happens to have Jeane on too. I just checked iTunes, and there's a live version of Billy doing Jeane, which I also bagged.

Cheers,

Peter

I have a version of Ask done by Billy in Japan somewhere is this widely available?

Alan

I don't have it either - and I have loads of Billy - so, any chance you could share?

Dave

Ooh, I would love that too:) Pretty please Alan!

CD arrived, and it's rather splendid. There's some nice songs that I might upload...

Shirley (Previously unreleased - NOT the released version of Greetings...) - credits are Billy Bragg - vocals, Johnny Marr - everything else (including drums, bass, harmonica...)

The Boy Done Good - composed by Johnny Marr - credits are Billy Bragg - vocals, Cara Tivey - Keyboards, Jody Linscott - Percussion, Lorraine Bowen - Backing Vocal, Johnny Marr - everything else.

Walk Away Renee (Version) - Beautiful, this one, superb picking from Marr, just like Back To The Old House. Credits are Billy Bragg - monologue, Johnny Marr - Acoustic Guitar.

Jeane - Studio version of Jeane, guitars and vocal by Billy Bragg - some of you may not have heard this version.

Shall I?

Peter

Thanks Peter!

I'm sure this is a hijack, or is off topic... But this is a fantastic album.

Shirley is obviously recorded in the same session as 'Sexuality' when Billy had his big push to become a proper pop star. And Johnny's harmonica and guitar are sublime.
Sulk is one of my favourite Bragg B-sides. Successfully converted a friend of mine to Bragg :)
Walk Away Renee - And then one day it happened, She cut her hair and I stopped loving her - perfect, just perfect

Back in February, I posted some Billy and Johnny tracks from the Box sets of Billy's back catalogue - Ihttp://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showthread.php?t=96654 - assume the links are dead, if you want them I could re-upload. Let me know.

Oh Lordy, I missed these - Back The Old House and A Lover Sings - I would love to hear those - can you re-upload? And you're right, the album is a beauty.

Peter

Just to keep this one alive, here's A New England from Glastonbury - with Lyrics from Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now at the end. http://www.sendspace.com/file/k28c1u

One for the completists me-thinks :)
