The most lively crowd I’ve seen. Sometimes too lively... A number of people fighting or pushing, probably after drinking too much, got taken out over the barrier by security. Please, if you’re going to a show, be responsible and respectful and don’t let your friends do this. Otherwise a great show. He wore the shiny jacket from the Hollywood Bowl and the tour posters for the Jack the Ripper encore and I believe he threw it into the front during Jack the Ripper. I was at the other end of the barrier but it seemed maybe there was initial fighting over it for a second but then under control. I suppose it was caught whole and people around stopped fighting and let it stay unripped.

Some banter (paraphrased from memory): “You can breathe as hard as you’d like... it won’t hurt me!” (The stage was quite high up and very far back from the barrier), “When you say, as one of you just did, that you love me... do you love me supremely? Or do you love my physically? Or do you love me... not at all? ... I don’t care!” Before encore, a very heartfelt message saying “I love you... wherever you go, or don’t go, or think about going, remember that I love you.” And just before Jack the Ripper “Before I go... do you mind if I have a short smoke?”

You're the one who needs to get a grip. It's just Morrissey not taking this virus seriously and basically mocking it. It has nothing to do with other people wearing masks. The only way to stem the tide of this virus is to not gather in large crowds. If you can't see that you're pretty thick.
I think the virus is not taking Morrissey seriously and is mocking him?

That venue is horrendous. It’s a brutalist monstrosity. But artists can rightly be criticised if they choose the wrong context for their productions. It’s hard to imagine a worse space for Morrissey’s set list last night.

I’ve seen 21 Pilots at the SSE, and they made it work for them.

Live concert ticket prices verge on extortion these days. If you have a poor experience, it’s hard to forget. Morrissey’s attitude has been ‘who’ll have me?’ I would suggest he needs to acknowledge the whole, and hand pick venues appropriate for the set list, or change the music.

I saw Frankie Valli 18 months ago: he was utterly electric. It’s impossible to overstate what a consummate artist he is to this day. And I think he was 85 when he played, at Cardiff.

When the Stone Roses played Leeds, a few years back, it was mesmerising.

Belle and Sebastian have evolved into a beautiful live band.

Peter Hook has a live warmth that defies his public image; fans get added value from his live sets.

I took my daughter to see Imagine Dragons, and it was wonderful to see her being pulled into their world.

I should be able to say all these things about Morrissey. As control freaks go, he’s f***ing losing it.

A beautiful ballad like Jack the Ripper doesn’t need dry ice to conjure up the idea of fog. For f***s sake.

The dry ice was fun. It's so you hear laughter out of nowhere.

Other acts are other acts & Morrissey has always been difficult & different. He wouldn't write so many songs about lack & rejection if he was going to evolve into a normal performer playing to the gallery.

Yawn.

I thought he was getting a bit worn down in 2018, but I saw signs of the old rebellious sparkle coming back.

WTF is so bad about For Britain anyway? Nothing.

Nothing, because they're never going to do anything. But they have a terrible image & it's an easy stick for a hack to beat Moz with, which is yet another thing obscuring what's great about him.

So I'd kill FB with fire.

I was wearing 3 badges, if any of you saw me wandering about with my gin. I made a few nervous lefties happy. I think they feared being seen at a Moz concert in 2020.

I always roll my eyes when he sings And Labour, but to be fair... we're all sick to death of it these days.

I honestly didn't notice it. I could swear it was the normal picture.

He made one joke cough as far as I can recall & it was funny.
The mask was there. 100%. I was up front and had seen the picture on social media before, so I immediately recognised it.

Was the normal picture there as well?

I was looking at Morrissey more than the background. Plus gin. Obviously.
No, it wasn't.

This could be the last gig anywhere for a while.
It should and may be a celebratory affair.
Let’s make the most of it for Christ’s sake!
The real fans are here, not at home, end of.
Hopefully they will be at home afterwards and stay there...ffs

Sorry, but I must say it from the depth of my soul. If you want to risk your own life, jump from a fifth floor. But if you go to a concert during a declared pandemic, you are risking the life of the rest of society. Innocent people may suffer or die, including your parents or grandparents, neighbors, coworkers, or friends, only because of your actions.
Not to mention our average age as fans of him...

Gallows humour, & veering between aggression & vulnerability is his USP. It would be a lot easier to sell him as a playwright, which is what he originally wanted to be.

The only context Morrissey makes sense in is his own & press & marketing continually rip him out of it.

One has a grip, the other doesn’t. I’m not necessarily being critical when I say that, but it’s a risky business being belligerent. Last night was a failure. It wasn’t even bad enough to be recovered as a ‘splendid defeat’. I’ve had similar experiences: Sex Pistols at Crystal Palace (2003?) was cobblers in much the same way.
Was the non grip pint cheaper? Heehheee cor snigger giggle.

I think I saw a Latin American socialist in the background for I've Got Devil. I THINK it was Che. But we've established I don't remember the backgrounds. Could it have been Castro?

With any luck, the place will be rammed with ignorant c*nts like you. In an ideal world, they’ll open up the merch-tables, the nut and berry stands and then lock the lot of you in there to stew together for the next 2 weeks.

Couldn’t happen to a bigger bunch of mindless clowns and f***-yard wankers.
Why are you always on the site then......twat

Really?
When was that last done?

The closest he’s come to playing Well I Wonder live, both with The Smiths or solo, is during an a capella section with a few lyrics during the silent part of Speedway.
