It's a manc thing. I was there during their heyday and badly dressed people celebrated their music like it was the best thing since sliced bread.

To me they were a cheap modern version of The Beatles and no one hates The Beatles more than me so much in fact I once arranged a bonfire burning of their records.

I heard a rumour that I celebrated when Lennon was murdered and maybe that still brings a smile to my face.

BUT more importantly, selling records has NOTHING TO DO with being a musician. I see, and better than Noel, musicians on the street who will never upload on SoundCloud, never mind make and sell a record.

Really? Well you should be on The Voice or something and you could discover all these people on the street that don't have a soundcloud. Are they too ethereal for the sounds to be recorded? Only you can see and hear them? Otherwise I really think you could be like the next Paula Abdul or Simon Cowell and make all these people into big stars and push Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran off the charts and right into the trash where they belong.

I remember that! When John Lennon said he was more popular than Jesus I saw you in Georgia burning Beatles records in front of the Baptist church. I found your picture!

I think the point is that when Morrissey has the number one vinyl single one week it's a really big deal and means that the public has good taste but if someone else has a hugely popular album that charts for years it means it's not good because the public only likes stuff that's naff.

You don’t assess the quality of music by the sales though. The quality of music is entirely subjective.

One of my favourite albums is My Beauty by Kevin Rowland. It was one of the most disastrous and controversial album releases of all time and has a more disturbing cover than even Low In High School. It sold next to nothing and (here’s the Oasis link) Noel Gallagher was reportedly furious with Creation for spending the money they felt they had made the label on releasing it. There is more feeling and pathos in the first thirty seconds of track one than all Oasis releases combined.

It’s wonderful. Not maybe. Definitely.

Blimey. Well, looking at that sleeve we should all be grateful for LIHS. Though, like LIHS, I think it's the tacky art direction that bothers me more than the actual image. I'm afraid I don't share your enthusiasm for the content, though, strange choice of covers imo - which just proves your point about it all being entirely subjective.

Every top side have lost to a championship side which is a very underrated league made up of sides who used to make up the PL.

I only find United being able to ve exciting, yes, and have often wondered why other sides fail to be. I think the short answer is that they are far too effective when on a good run.

Mourinho will walk out cause he is the type but he is forever the most successful United manager when it comes to the first season at the club but of course United achievements are not hyped up at all like when other sides stumble through a season being lucky and having paid a fortune to the FA and refs to make them win it.

Bungs used to be a word used a lot in the english game but these days that money is transfered directly from Dubai to the FA. In future the english game will see a scandal (wikileaks) that will be on a bigger scale than the Serie A in the past and that will kill the english game off for good.

A CL spot is all the top sides care about now which killed the excitement and meant that one side runs away with the league and the other ones only worry about the league position.

I agree with Mourinho that I could not care less where we are in the table as long as we're not in the number 1 spot. You as a United fan know full well that United as a club is run by a bunch of backward socialists who only care about the drinks they get for free on matchdays.

The biggest reason investments are lacking is because Paddy Crerand has to ok everything so we will only move forward when that irish scottish prick draws his last breathe.

United need to be modernised by people in the know and not backward legends and fans that are worried about what the fans sing and do. If it ever came to politics no one in their right mind would follow and support United and I know you know that as well.

I have a strange theory: some people are always right, they are right even when they are wrong.

I do know some 5 or 6 persons like that (funny fact, one of them is an identical clone of Morrissey, he looks identical to Morrissey, he has exactly the same voice that Morrissey has, his gestures are identical to Morrissey's gestures... and he has no interest in Morrissey at all).

You can easily identify these persons because you end up saying "exactly", "exactly" when they write or speak.

I recently had to add the mighty kickboxer K to the small list of persons who are always right. So it's not about taking sides, it's just accepting the simple fact that some persons are always right.

I forgot to say that I am waiting for the mighty K to send me a message (it can be a blank message, it doesn't matter actually), so I can reply with a link to something that can't be posted here because of a lot of reasons.

It's not a theory Peter, it's an empirically demonstrated fact.

And, no, I am not one of those persons. I am actually very unbalanced. I know a lot about some specific subjects and I am absolutely ignorant about other subjects. For some reason or other I specialized my knowledge in some subjects since I was a very young teen (actually a since I was younger than a teen).

I.e, it takes me 5 seconds to find a specific phrase in a book that I may have read some 15 years ago, but it may take me 15 years to find a street even if I have a map in my hands.
