LAST FEW REMAINING WRISTBANDS!!

Re: Drudge is reportingTheo is going to replace O'Connor!!

> Well he should!!

My first move will be to hire you as my clerk. Actually I'd rather be YOUR clerk. I'd be afraid of weilding such power. I'd rather just be an influence in the backround.

These justices totally get off on their power because they never, ever wanna retire until they're in their death beds. I'm almost shocked O'Connor is moving on at 75 when she still has some years left in her. There should be forced retirement of Supreme Court justices at a certain age IMHO.

The only thing I can predict is that whomever Bush nominates, he or she will be made out to be the face of evil by the next day.

O'Connor frustrated me in school because her opinions were the most difficult to make sense of for exam purposes (try and make sense of her test for an unconstitutional endorsement of religion and your head will spin), and because intellectually the justices who keep themselves more handcuffed against ruling any which way the wind blows make more sense to me. But in the real world I'm glad she was there and I hope the balance is preserved. She was the swing vote on so many decisions, intentionally trying to be a force of moderation. And she was a person of the highest integrity. Another thing that was refreshing about her is, since her holdings weren't as ideologically driven, she listened more thoughtfully to the arguments made by the litigants in a particular case.

So, yeah, since it's a fantasyland (after _Roe_) for the selection of judges to not be so politically charged, and since none of the politicians making the choices are libertarians like me, I have to hope for a balance to be preserved. So I hope for another like O'Connor.

Anyway, everyone should read O'Connor's dissent in the _Kelo_ case, where she tried to stand up for our Bill of Rights. Hopefully her dissent will one day be vindicated.

LOL! That's the truth!

I'd get a New Jersey Devils plate holder, but I doubt anyone driving behind me would understand that it would be more about my being a fan of Megan/Devils in New Jersey than the hockey team.

I only hope the Senate hearings are televised!

It's been an awfully long time since Long Dong Silver was a matter of public discourse.

ahhhhh!! I need to look for a penguin plate holder because right back at you!!
Well If GWBush in his infinate wisdom named me as a replacement Roe V. Wade would be safe. I have an idea, I will take Rehnquist's place and you can replace O'Connor. Interns/clerks -wouldn't want any repeats of Monica Lewinsky!!
As much as I hate to correct you-Ted Kennedy and posse are already making the replacement the face of evil and they don't even know who it is yet.
Thanks for the link!

Re: Drudge is reportingTheo is going to replace O'Connor!!

How about a band that says "Being a moronic consumer I'll buy anything".
Then you could sell a second band "Ignore first band as it is redundantly self evident."

i stopped wearing my lance armstrong band last year, when these were "IN"
