TTY - Kiss Me A Lot Official Video directed by Sam Esty Rayner

As I read the name Sam Esty Rayner I feared the worst ... and what can I say ... it's even worse than I'd imagined. The boy knows nothing (unfortunately). Watch for yourself ...

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

"It is shockingly bad and I am genuinely sad and upset to say, (as I never thought I would think this of Morrissey) it is sexist in its objectifying of young women's bodies, for nothing more than conventional decoration. I kept waiting for something subversive/funny/thought provoking, to happen. After all Morrissey has said and done to challenge gender norms, which has personally mattered so much, this feels like a slap in the face betrayal. For the first time in 35 years, I seriously feel embarrassed and sickened to call myself a Morrissey fan. Such a shame - one of my favourite songs off the album & he looks great in the performance parts of the video."

Oh for f*** sake...

Just wait til she sees the video for "Kick the Bride Down the Aisle"...

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

This has to be the funniest video he's ever made.

I just wish he would have gone full "Blurred Lines" on us.

Yeah, have Robin thicke do an Cameo
Robin: holla, mozza, lets show all the sexy ladies out there how to move it
Morrissey: yea boi!!!!

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

Since I couldn't be bothered to watch the video again after the first run through, can someone tell me what is written on the bodies?

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

Are you serious? No, no, no. I'm a 40 year old woman. I have loved Moz since I was 16 and I also love shopping at Victoria's Secret. But, to put the 2 demographics together is a huge mistake. They don't mesh. Please lay this video to rest and we shall never speak of it again

Im truly afraid, the next statment on true to you by morrissey will be...
"I want to thank all my bitches who worked on this sic ass video"

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

whole video and story about it must be some kind of sneering to his current status in the music market.

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

For those who don't know, Sam was the first person to ever feature in a Morrissey promo video, being the young boy who delivers the letter to Morrissey's house at the start of the 'Suedehead' video. So, now he's all grown up, it would have been nicely circular for him to direct something amazing for his uncle. Shame it's a bit crap.

It's not that bad I mean ....he looks shagable and I liked the lingerie - wonder what kind it is

Im guessing somewhere in hell Thatcher is laughing

:nopity:
Because my poor video direction.......

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

Everyone on this thread has gone totally outer limits. Kiss me a lot is such an amazing song and really stands on it's own.... the fact that we got a video where he is performing and we get to witness him sing the song is an added bonus. Who cares about those ladies? It's really about him, anyway. It's a simple performance video, take it for what it is, and be happy he was trying to give us fans something to see along with his beautiful song. In fact, I'm gonna watch it again.

Jesus. He looks like Conrad Veidt in that picture. Poor sod.

It's an awful song from an awful album. Throwing a couple of lingerie clad women into the video is the least of its problems. In fact, they're the highlight, if anything. I just hope this doesn't ruin their careers.

Over the six or so decades of popular music there have been many villains: the person who said to Buddy Holly "Why don't we charter a plane?" The person who first made Elvis a peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich. The person who said to Tammi Terrell "Have a Tylenol."

To that list we can add the person who said "Hey, Morrissey, I brought my flamenco guitar with me."

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

OK so I've had 3 gos at watching this 4 minute video and I still haven't made it until the end yet. Yes it's that bad. There are parts of it where Morrissey actually looks bored (and a little embarrassed) just to be there.

For some reason when listening to this song I always envisioned colour and brightness, a continental summer. So to see Morrissey and band all in black humming along in some darkened studio I just found it to be a very jarring juxtaposition to the lyrics of the song.

As for the chicks? I've got no problem with looking at women in lingerie but in this case where is the context? They were in the video for what reason exactly? At least with something like Blurred Lines I could kinda see the point, but this? It looked like some lowbrow Terry Richardson shit, as if it is even possible to go more lowbrow than Terry.

Sorry Sam but that was a hot mess. (I shall now go and attempt to force my eyeballs to watch the last 25 seconds.)

That's true, my eyes certainly don't the shit I just put them through. In fact I think I feel temporary blindness coming on.

Re: Kiss me a lot - Official video

This has to be a pointed jab at someone, a la "You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby."

In 6 months we'll all have either forgotten about it or be claiming, "Yes, I got the joke from the get-go...."
