OH....LEAVE JULIA ALONE

Oh.. leave her alone ...
a lonely widow? ...who the heck invented that? ..hahahhahahah.. and if she is what´s your problem?
Yes, she has a strange look ...just like all Morrissey fans ..
no, she´s not 24, but she´s not 40. Yes, all Morrissey crew know her, but I don´t think she´s a stalker, though I think it must be quite odd for Morrissey having a fan that goes to ALL the shows, don´t you think?
she´s very thin and tender.
I also had the pleasure to meet her , she is very quite indeed, about if she doesn´t speak much ..yeh you could tell so ..in my case she was the one who introduces herself and even adopt me in the concert. we talked all the concert, and at the end we took photographs which of course I WOn´T show you .. selfish ones.
she sells her zine at the end of shows..and she lives in Boston.

that's just a rumour and I love julia-rumours. my fave is that she once stood at a moz concert facing the wrong way. there are other good ones too, like what moz really thinks of her...

Re: in Julia Riley's defense

If I was jealous I'd tell you. I just don't think she's a mystery worth protecting. She has mental problems--why not expose her?

I don't really know, like I said I've only been privy to random rumours...but there was something about Moz expressing discomfort at having to look at her face again, and his fear of her because she baked him cakes and bought him an expensive Wilde book. who knows? she should just post and fess up.

This is interesting because i can only think of one time that I jumped the queue and that was in San Francisco, and I was racked with guilt. I didn't even jump the queue on purpose. A Maritime hall employee places us there because we had a special situation with the tickets. But i will admit that it happened.

Otherwise, we waited in the cold with everyone else, at most taking turns to save the place in line.
(there was a cause for my being sick twice a week in Europe)
We never pulled the 'i'll go and talk to that person i recogize who is 2nd in line and then just go inside with them' stunt.
So I am fairly clueless to which shows people might be referring to. (i'm really curious! which ones?)
It is pretty rare that I am in the front. I haven't been front row since (bar SF) europe. Any photos I get that are close are because I fought my way in the mosh pit for it and braved elbows and crowdsurfers and managed to hold the camera still enough.
So i'm truly sorry if people think that we do this. becuase I know we don't. and it really irks me when people do jump queues.

Hey Comptesse!

just have to tell you how glad I am you started to add pictures on your site again! Dear god, how many more are there?

I*m still praying every day for that Morrissey/Joni Mitchell interview to turn up.....

cheers,

Yes, I try to update the pics every day if I get a chance. I've been out of town a lot for the last couple of weeks, so there have been lapses, but I can pretty much guarantee that at least 3 or 4 days out of the week I'll be able to update them from now on. I still have many, many, many, many more to go, so keep tuned!

Regarding the Joni Mitchell interview, I have it, but I haven't gotten around to putting it up yet. I still have many, many interviews to transcribe as well. Perhaps I should prioritize these things, but it's so difficult to juggle girlfriend, job, family, and life. Sigh...

Here's my favorite picture of late. I just acquired this one recently in an old Smash Hits I bought off Ebay. Isn't it lovely? Why don't they make posters like this???

Well, I'm sorry if I implied that you were a line jumper. I never intended to suggest this at all - I know that you girls sit in line like the rest of the fans. And if you haven't been in front for every show, then I am wrong to have even name-dropped the Moz-Tour girls at all. Sorry about that. But regarding the fans who have to be in front for every show, even though they have already been in front dozens of time, I remain steadfast in my position that this is selfish. The same goes for people who are in front who get to hold Morrissey's hand - and then every time he comes over, they have to hold his hand again, not even caring that the person struggling next to them hasn't been able to touch his hand yet because they've been hogging him up every time. (I finally got a hand hold for the first time at the Portland show, and I actually cut it short (ie. removed my hand from his) because there were many other hands around mine. I figured other people deserved their hand to be held too.) I just would like to think that Morrissey fans would have a little more consideration for their fellow fans. I know, what a dreamer I am!

Because Julia Riley is completely harmless! She may be a kook - but so am I! So are a lot of us! Julia is an extremely nice, private person who puts out a lovely 'zine and is guilty of nothing more than excessive devotion. Why would anyone want to hurt her? She's not hurtful, she's not rude, she's not obnoxious. Give her a break!

Re: Front Row Selfishness

Have any of you ever considered the wonderful photos you get thanks to the Morrissey Tour-girls (and to me, too: (http://lightning.prohosting.com/~elsberry/morrissey/limerick/limerick.htm). How would you like the pictures if they would show nothing but backs?

And: Hoorah for Germany (I am seldom heard to say that, believe me!) for not having queues and lines! :)

Yes, I appreciate the pictures and I understand the need to be up close for them... but they don't ALL take pictures, do they? And anyway, I've already said that I regret bringing the Moz-Tour girls into the equation. So... strap me to the whipping post and do your worst!

Re: who said i cut, because i never ... (except once)

I don't know who you are, but I saw Angela & ugly Mel at the front of the line in Tempe when they weren't there when the line formed. Maybe someone was holding their place--that's convenient.

Get with it people. Julia Riley = Cili Barnes

She knows everything.

Money + time = Julia/Cili

nope. cili has mentioned having a boyfriend. julia just has her fantasies.

I don't like Julia because she is an insane,line-cutting,smelly old hag.

smart thinking

ah, now we have proof of what the problem is. he goes on stage and encourages the weirdos until they *don't* leave him alone.

Re: Of course dude

What does she look like? I think I may have seen her. I wonder how Morrissey met her. I wonder if it's because she's been at every show and then he wondered who is she.

they deserve the honor of being in the front if they stand outside and wait through snow, rain, sleet and all sorts of inhuman weather conditions. unfortunately, julia uses her fanzine as a way of striking up conversation with those at the front of the line and edges her way in without waiting. it's sickening.
