Yes, they tend to have younger artists on the playlist but seem to make exception if they think the song warrants it. There’s a panel that decides what makes the playlists.

Maybe on 6 Music but Radio 2 are extremely open minded when it comes to age of the artists. They playlisted songs off the recent albums by both Tom Jones and C Richard who were/are in their 80s.
 
I really wanted to like Johnny's new single. I tried. Here's hoping there are a few Hi Hellos on this new one. Or a visit from wee Andy.
