Johnny Cash gets remixed by son and Snoop Dogg

In an unlikely pairing, John Carter Cash (Johnny's son) and Snoop Dogg are producing Johnny Cash Remixed, which features interpretations of some of Cash's finest classics as a tribute.
Remixers have reworked songs licensed from Cash's first label, Sun Records, which will be released Oct. 14 and in vinyl deluxe form in September.

Says Cash the Younger: "[My father] set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record." On the tracklist are "Walk the Line" (feat. Snoop Dogg), "Country Boy" (Sonny J), "Folsom Prison Blues" (Pete Rock) and "Leave That Junk Alone" (Alabama 3, who also wrote the Sopranos theme). Mathew Knowles (yes, Beyoncé's dad) is also producing.

oh God no, please. Why Why Why...? I really do like Snoop, he's probably my favorite rapper (tho do not own any rap music), but let Johnny rest in peace.

I was unflrtunate enough to see Alabama 3 support the Levellers recently. Not good. I love Johnny Cash, but I dread to think what they'll do to his songs.

I adore Johnny Cash.

I like Alabama 3, especially Devlin Love(swoon).

But, Dear God, this sounds horrendous...

The thoughts of Snoopy Dog or whatever his fuckwitted name is being involved is nauseating in the extreme. I have no idea who the other nonentities are.

I would have thought Johnny Cash would have quite liked Snoop Dogg's persona. They are both strong characters with a soft side. Neither would take shit from anyone.
