seriously though, how do I make my music louder on my itunes? when I play my ipod, alot of my songs just don't sound loud enough. especially the stuff I buy directly off itunes. or maybe I'm just deaf. either way I need it louder. I dled "ipodwizard" and I didnt have a compatible version of ipod or something? and then i dled "goPod" but apparently thats only for European ipods. I think theres a way to do it directly on itunes but I forget. what can I do? thanks.

Perhaps you are already going deaf.
That would explain the "whah?" "whah?" "whah?" every now and then.

I do say "whah?" alot, dont I? :o okay, so I'm already deaf, the damage has been done. so how do I make my music louder?:D

  4. Do you have Sound Check (Preferences > Playback > Sound Check) turned on? If not, turn it on. It should boost the volume of your quietest songs.

Your iPod also has a max volume setting. Look under the Settings.

i know the max setting on my ipod volume is up. let me check that other thing

oh ive always wondered. what is the best setting on my volume though? like "rock" "pop" "bass" etc,...??

  6. There may also be a setting for it on the iPod itself. I can't remember.

I don't use any of the rock or pop presets.

ok the sound check wasnt checked. so i checked it. so it'll make all my songs the same volume, but will it make the volume louder?

  8. It normalizes the volume--in other words, it adjusts the volume of each song so that they all have the same loudest volume. So quiet songs get boosted, loud songs get muted, etc. It's great for listening on shuffle, but disastrous for listening to things like concerts, where the crowd noise and band volume can vary dramatically from song to song.

Make an appointment with an Ear Nose and Throat specialist. Have your ear canals flushed.

    That was a serious answer.

I was at the Apple store this evening. The earbuds to my iPhone headphones were a bit frayed. They gave me new ones.

    I love Apple.

  13. Only if your iPod's master volume isn't already set to the max.

    Yes.

  14. No shit? I should do that, too--the rubber bits have worn off. I suppose it is still in-warranty.

you mean to tell me there is nothing I can do on my itunes? theres like 50 million settings on this thing, and none of them will fuck with the volume?

  16. Your iTunes settings don't transfer to your iPod. You are talking about your iPod being too quiet, right?

    sure they do.

you mean to tell me when I did the soundcheck thing, my songs will only sound different when I listen to them on my computer and not on my ipod? but thats stupid.

That is what was wrong with mine. They did not even run it through the computer. I mean if I have a 3G it was obviously less than a year old. I find their service department to be excellent and it is a determining factor as to why I always pay the $60 to extend the warranty for an extra year on all iPods and now iPhones.

    nugz,
    could it be the headphones??

i'm pretty sure the settings transfer. on a scale of 1-10, 10 being REALLY LOUD, what number do you give yours?

  20. Do they? I'm pretty sure that the Sound Check setting is independent on each one. I don't use that setting, though, so what do I know?
