'It was the best of tunes . . . '

Leave aside the lyrics, for once, and, while we're at it, leave aside The Smiths and cover versions. So, purely as a solo artist, what have been the best and most golden tunes that have featured on official releases? Only the tunes, mind. Mr Shandy and myself, after much deliberation, are going for:

  1. Trouble Loves Me
  2. Everyday is Like Sunday
  3. Alma Matters / Nobody Loves Us (same toon, really)
  4. National Front Disco
  5. Suedehead
  6. I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris
  7. Come Back to Camden
  8. Hairdresser on Fire
  9. My Love Life
  10. Interesting Drug

We see what you did. Right there. Ooooh, you're a bold one, aintcha?

Very good idea for a thread. After only some cursory deliberation, and thus subject to change:

1. Southpaw
2. Hold On to Your Friends
3. National Front Disco
4. I Will See You in Far-Off Places
5. My Love Life
6. Sunny
7. Such a Little Thing Makes Such a Big Difference
8. Maladjusted
9. The Lazy Sunbathers
10. You Were Good in Your Time

Charles just called: he hopes you're joking.

Charles just called again: he says you're a man of not bad taste, not bad taste at all.
