It’s not about politics

that is some rabid rating and i say that as the boards rabid rating rabbit!

Right, but Morrissey admires those people in spite of the fact that they eat meat, not because of it. He admires them as artists, not moralists. If Jobriath had released an album called I Believe in Keto, So Yes, Meat is Goooood I think Morrissey would’ve griped.

I agree that the alt-right fans are a strange accrual, but surely you can see how that happened, given various things Morrissey has said and done over the last ten years. At this point they’re less “incongruent” than the meat eaters.
Oh yes, I totally agree that Morrissey brought this on himself with some of his words and actions. It is an unintended consequence. I'm sure he hates his far right loyalists as much as I do. He could easily win back his long deserted former fans and drive away the hateful loons by just admitting mistakes but pride prevents him from doing that. It is easier for him to just blame others for the mess he created.

I like Morrissey's music in spite of his veganism. What he eats or doesn't never enters my thoughts...I tolerate the album title Meat Is Murder. I love the album, actually. I took a flier on it in 1985 without knowing a thing about The Smiths and have been a fan ever since. The only song I don't like or play is the title track but I respect his stance.

I wouldn't be so sure. He at least doesn't mind videos of alt-right "influencers" being shared on his website (assuming he's not the one sharing them). They're still up, there's been one recently, and I'd lay odds there's more to come.

I imagine he hates Trump for two reasons: Trump's macho-buffoon, cartoonish presentation, and Trump's statements about Mexicans. Take Trump's platform, subtract abortion and Latinophobia, package it in a handsome middle-aged bachelor who makes a comment or two against halal slaughter, and do you think Morrissey would hate him? I think he'd be saying "stop the steal."

The stuff of nightmares. I guess I should go back to my Housemartins, The Clash, Billy Bragg, Paul Weller, and REM cds. If that is truly the case, Morrissey is a narcissist. His writing style has completely changed from the 80's to today's angry old guy ham fisted ditties, so who knows?

Aubrey, we can see how it happened because the tiny number of far right trolls who lobbied SER posted about it.

If they wanted "things Morrissey has said and done" to take the blame for their loud but tiny existence indefinitely they should have deleted.

I would be surprised if @goinghome doesn't support this bill. Is this bill going to usher in a new era of "gentleness and kindness", @goinghome?

As always, your explanation puzzles me.

I don't know who these far-right trolls are, or how they're "lobbying" Rayner. I'm not prepared to accept suppositions or hypotheses. What I can see with my own eyes is 1. that Morrissey has staked out a couple conservative positions, which doesn't really bother me, and 2. that he either posts alt-right videos on his Messages blog, or does not care what gets posted on that blog, including alt-right videos, which does bother me, but such is life.

We're never going to agree on that stuff, so let's leave it. But here's a question for you, since you follow things intently. Do you know if Morrissey is still in touch with Russell Brand? Does Rayner like Russell Brand?

Morrissey should read this!

Malarkey will be seething that I've posted it and yet she won't be able to disprove any part of the article. I used to have pictures of newspaper clippings from the time which showed that MPs had no idea that the Empire Windrush was on its way to Britain and were only made aware of it at the last minute. I had them on an old phone and it would be too much effort to attempt to locate them online again so I haven't bothered 🤷‍♂️

She won't be able to disprove any of it even if she could because she's on time out :lbf:

Farks Malarks has lost the plot and is truly out of control. She is on timeout here, meanwhile she was going hell for leather yesterday on her twitter feed obsessing about Solow, posting old screenshots so she could call people here white nationalists, posting again the photo of Donnie and publicly calling him “a white supremacist”, posting that Morrissey should hate Rick Astley because Rick Astley is a hetero who is stealing Morrissey’s queer art. At this point she would probably benefit best from a not insignificant psychiatric hold.
Yup, amazing stuff to watch. Seems like now that "Central" can't be blamed for the things posted on there, she's now going down the rabbit hole that all of Morrissey's woes have been created by Simon "The Rat" Wratten. Because, you know, nothing is ever Morrissey's fault.

"With this operational nuclear weapon, the USA had won the so-called race for the atomic bomb. If the Wehrmacht had not unconditionally capitulated on 8 May 1945, it is possible that German cities would have been in the crosshairs of the US military. In 1943, Berlin as well as Mannheim-Ludwigshafen were considered to be potential targets, as listed by the US military after an initial tentative discussion – albeit at a time when no operational atomic bomb was available. It was only in April 1945, when the end of the war in Europe was clearly in sight and it was certain that the new bomb would only be deployed in the Pacific, that a serious discussion took place as to which Japanese cities would be best suited to test the effect of the newly developed weapon."

The last dude is the guy they’re talking about in the other three tweets, Julius Malema, the leader of the ‘Economic Freedom Fighters’ party in South Africa who was leading the crowd in the ‘kill the Boer’ chant during a rally a few days ago. Which I didn’t find too surprising, I remember talking to someone online from Haiti who told me “koupe tet, boule kay” (cut off the head, burn down the house) is a motto for many Haitian people. Although I was informed it’s not meant to be taken literally either, unless they’re wronged in some way and are given a reason to make it literal :paranoid:. Even in Ireland there was a big hoopla last October when Irish women soccer players sang “ooh ahh up the Ra” after a game. So I know there are countries with historic songs/chants which some people still use without being firm believers in the content of what they’re singing. But since Julius Malema has been ambiguous about whether he means the ‘kill the Boer’ saying or not, and being the leader of a political party it takes on a different meaning to when it’s soccer players or private citizens chanting something, I just thought I’d point out who some of his party’s top financial donors are.

"even in Ireland" 🙄

And I never seethe at you, you're too long-winded.
