sounds like a triggered sample to me. Or they cleverly threw a pitch up effect on his mic at those points which can be done from the sound board.

Yeah, the way that voice EXACTLY mirrors Morrissey's timing and phrasing, especially towards the end, makes me feel that they've got some kind of live pitch-shift effect setup on the vocals, and either Morrissey or Marr (if it's a pedal on stage), or the soundboard guy if it's set up there, is turning it on and off at those points. I guess they tried it out, and didn't stick with it as it was too much hassle? Interesting to hear though - good catch!
