Is the Moz-solo guestbook as low as we can go?

Is the guestbook the most sick & depraved place on Moz-solo?

I've just had a quick peek & it really does seem to be darker than anything Joseph Conrad described in The Heart of Darkness combined with the hellish visions of Hieronymus Bosch or Francis Bacon.

Is that the next stop on the tour for the Discussion board misfits & ne'er do wells, who, having found the 'Article comments' boards too long winded & slightly tame, came on here looking for a brisker pace & a more robust atmosphere, only to find that the insistence by the majority on at least a veneer of civilization prevailing was too restricting & tantamount to censorship.

There was nowhere to go but down, down, down, into the murkiest depths imaginable, a place much akin to a Victorian Asylum, only one where the lunatics have not only taken over the Asylum, they've moved their insane relatives in too.

God help us all.

I'd never read the guestbook, only heard about it, until about 4 days ago. Wow. It is indeed sick and depraved. This whole site, in fact, is quite sad. I registered on the morrisseymusic.com boards but I think I've only posted once, if that. It does seem to be a more healthy type of place, though, and one worth checking into.

I understand and respect the amount of work David T puts into this site, but there must be a way to police it a bit better. Moz deserves better than this!

Have they tried journaling yet?

Or does it lack the negative, interactive feedback that they crave?

I think you hit the nail on the head (ah, overused cliches!) with that one! Don't give them any ideas, though...

The answer to that is either yes, no or probably.

I'm not quite sure where to place journaling on the sliding scale between polite interaction & depraved lunacy.

It's either the last refuge of the damned, or a delightful way to make new friends.

Reading someone's journal always seemed to me to be the equivalent of watching someone elses paint dry.

Definitely - my jounal will put you to sleep in an instant! It bores me to tears. Why do I still write in it? Who the hell knows?

I read it this morning actually! lol

You appear to be searching for your own style, but I didn't nod off at any point.

I read bobmozza's occasionally, & poppycocteau's has it's moments.

I tend to forget about journals until I'm REALLY bored though.

hey, you hit the nail on the head! my journal is so boring that exactly 2 people read it. they occasionally show up with comments, but god knows why.

oh, and BTW, david originally installed the journal system to bait the people who post in the guestbook into going somewhere else. god knows why people post what they do in the guestbook when there are other areas of the site that better fit that function, but that's just me.

Ah, you read it. That's great. I have no style or form yet, you are correct. I am just toying with ideas at the moment. Glad to hear you didn't nod off, lol.

Re: Morrissey deserves better????

Whether or not he 'gives a shit' about it is not the point. He deserves better from his fans is what I meant. Whether he reads it or not is irrelevant! He deserves more respect, reverence, etc. than he gets in such forums -- it's all about the spirit that it's all written in...

If that was aimed at me I haven't the faintest clue what you are talking about.
Who are you?

No, that wasn't aimed at you! It was aimed at the 'white wine headache' person, probably whoever has been posting all the other rubbish. By trying to argue back they proved what I was saying!
