i think she was probably the victim of stockholm syndrome (like patty hearst). it's very common for victims to fall in love with, or become otherwise attached to, their kidnapers.

as much as i'd love to blame mormonism, because it's evil, i can't say it's at fault here.

i didn't. i've only read an article or two about the situation and i don't have a tv. anyway, i've been obsessed for a couple years now with reading the stories at www.crimelibrary.com and i used to watch a lot of lifetime tv movies so i know a lot about all that kidnaping crap.
