Interesting items appearing on The Smiths & Morrissey rarities FB page

I'm certain the person running that page frequents here, but wouldn't mind these being reproduced here for discussion as they are interesting to say the least.
Also, credit to Gary Gittings for sharing them there - I hope his caps lock button gets fixed soon :)

Hopefully, the FB crappy image compression doesn't ruin them.

And Gary Day's proof of the above on a postcard:

If you collect rarities and haven't visited this FB page - you are missing out.
I'd further add: some of the items shared there recently (not highlighted here) are rare as hen's teeth and it's worth a visit just to see them.

I'm not really one to advertise FB, but this page is showcasing items that are historically important and worthy of viewing here.

Thanks to all concerned,
Regards,
FWD.

cd of Strangeways?. I always assumed The Smiths were pre-compact disc. oh how the memory fades. Did anyone buy all 3 formats?

You mean he feeds them too? Those escaped circus performers are doing well. Next you'll be telling me they get paid.

Yes.
I was lucky enough to be an early adopter of the CD format. '85 in the UK. Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms and Falco - Falco 3 were the first discs available and owned in our household.
Going from bootlegging tapes to hearing CD quality was mind blowing - especially through headphones (the PSB' s Please was amazing through headphones).
I remember always checking for AAD, ADD, and DDD formats to compare the differences.
Ah, the good ol' days.

I remember CDs being ridiculously expensive and hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Of course they did sound way better than cassettes. But no comparison to a good record on a good turntable with half decent speakers. I still buy the occasional CD because they are cheap and handy for the car. I just don't enjoy listening to music on my car bluetoothed from phone.
