Indio CANCELLED

That sucks. :( Moz needs a really, really long break after this tour. I hope he'll be okay for Pomona. That's the only show I'll be catching!

BTW, for anyone who jus thinks that he is sick or something. He was spotted at Amoeba Records in Hollywood a couple of hours ago just shopping for music. He is perfectly fine, sure doesnt make him look good right now does it.

DO NOT TRAVEL TO SEE THE SHOWS IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO CREATE YOUR OWN GOOD TIME OUT ON THE TOWN if there is a cancellation.

Just imagine what happens if people take your advice. Moz will go bankrupt.

Unless he was singing full voice while shopping for records, I have to say "So what?"

One of the sad and unfortunate truths of today is that recording artists garner an extraordinary amount of money from playing live shows, much more than they do from selling records and record contracts, and if there is one thing we know about Moz is that he loves his money especially now he's had a taste of wealth. This is not a criticism just a cold hard truth. In the end your royalties bring you luxuries, well not any more.

Hope he is well enough for Pomona tonight. I unfortunately left to early for Indio and couldn't access my texts while driving so i found out too late. Luckily the hotel I was staying at let me leave as I had just checked in and they said it was fine. I was in the room two minutes when I head the news. SO I drove to the Casino and the box office gave me 10 dollars to play and I ended up coming home with 24 bucks. So at least I got something out of it!

He really does need a long break after this tour. He's 50 now and he has to realise that he's not able for as much touring compared to his younger days. If he played less frequently, with larger gaps between dates, he would feel a lot better. Let's hope he doesn't completely destroy his voice, or his health...

Is indio going to be rescheduled?

According the itsmorrisseysworld.com website the status is:
INDIO CANCELLED 5/12/09

The Morrissey concert at Fantasy Springs in Indio, CA tonight, December 5 has been cancelled.

Please stand by for possible rescheduling information.

Any news on the possible rescheduling?

Any news on the possible rescheduling?

I called the box office yesterday and the employee said that they were just waiting for Morrissey to call and let them know what he wanted to do.

I'm predicting he won't reschedule the Indio show, but I'll hang on to my tickets to see the how the drama plays out. BTW, Fantasy Springs has handled the whole mess beautifully. They've been very nice and apologetic since the "postponement".

Oh Moz...

Do reschedule; the smaller venues are so much more special in every way. Come back to Indio, would you please.

I have no faith that he'll reschedule Indio. Or as soon as I get my refund he will. It's not the greatest venue (though it's small and intimate in comparison to a lot of other places), and there seemed to be a decent amount of tickets available up until the last minute.

I just called to inquire about my refund and they just got word that there is no reschedule.

Still holding on to my tickets...

MORRISSEY

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino regretfully announces that the Morrissey concert scheduled for Saturday, December 5th at 8pm has been postponed. The rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible.

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino management was informed Saturday morning that Morrissey had “blown out his voice” and would be unable to perform Saturday night.

Tickets to Morrissey’s December 5th show will be honored at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino for the artist’s rescheduled date, or ticket holders may receive a refund in person at the Box Office or via telephone (800) 827-2946. The rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible. Fantasy Springs Box Office hours are 10:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. on Saturday, December 5th and 10:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. all other days.

I just talked to the box office (2:40 pm, pacific time, December 15, 2009). The nice man told me that tickets purchased online will be automatically refunded the end of this week or beginning of next. The show is absolutely canceled with no reschedule whatsoever. Those were almost his exact words.

I'd be more disappointed if the Swords tour playlist wasn't so godawful. Had Indio been rescheduled, I'd half expect Moz to open with "Dagenham Dave" and encore with "Golden Lights".

Hate to be cynical, but...

Is it really so surprising?

I called for my refund the Monday after the "postponement." On principle, I went for the cheapest seemingly best tix (2 for the price of one, essentially) in Indio and took the risk... Sad I missed him this time around, but congrats to all who caught him! As for me and others who had tix to Indio, maybe in the next tour. Maybe in the next tour. [fingers crossed]

P.S. People in L.A., TicketBastard is hiring. Content Manager. I'd go for it for the employee discount alone (!), but I can do without the commute to WEHO!
