I was more broken up about the death of SCREAMING JAY over the weekend...as for Schulz.....

Peanuts was sometimes OK, and I'm sorry the guy died. However, what hasn;t been noted in all these tributes to him is how bad the strip usually is, especially in recent years. The guy had been on auto-pilot for the last decade, recylcing the same old material. And much of his stuff is flat out just not funny, not even slighly.

The worst thing to happen to the funny pages in recent years was Calvin & Hobbes ending. Peanuts was taken out of it's misery far too late.

but it is rather eery that he died the day of his last strip.

It was a publicity stunt, they knew he was't that healthy lately,
and that last strip, well it was already made just waiting for the
right time. I hope you are that intelligent to understand,
Dead people sell.
