You like her voice? I watched her on Behind The Music and liked her as a person but that voice, I just can't tolerate it. Am I crazy? Some of her songs are pretty good but I just can't bring myself to listen to that awful voice of hers.

I'm sorry, I just had to vent

i always liked her, but what i am saying is that her voice is better because she is crying less...

...were you honestly a fan of her first few Celine-like albums when she had the poodle-permed hair?!?!?!?!?!?! Before 'JLPill'?

God, if you want GENUINE folk/angst/rock singers... buy a few Janis Joplin albums, not some fake wannabe.

It's like buying a Tori Amos album before you've heard of Kate Bush......

hehe... i have never heard one song of this phase, as well as the most part of the humanity.

janis joplin was a great blues singer and her style has nothing to do with alanis` one, that`s my opinion.

and this speech of "genuine" is simply absurd for me. Or you like a song or you don`t. I think alanis is genuine when she sings, and that`s enough for me.

well, i don`t know kate bush and i don`t like tory amos, so i can`t get you point.

anyway, do you think a song is "genuine" just because it came before? well, haydn came before mozart, they have both the same of style and haydn was worse than mozart. As i have said here, i try to look music as i was 200 years from now. In 200 years nobody will pay attention of who came before.
