and it has nothing to do with the fact he has to pay 30% taxes on his royalty checks in America compared to the 64% if he were to live in the UK.

Royalty checks aren't worth the paper they are printed on! Rest assured that they not a factor for him living in the US.

Yes, and the weather is much better!

Moz Residing in the US.

Response: Living In the US
Well, I must admit living in the US must be an improvement than England,
But I'm sure Morrissey is still British. Having been to america, the
ignorance I experiance in america is unbelieveable. Not all are out to
lunch, but I find that I prefer dealing with Europeans. There mentality and
world views are highly appreciated. As far as the Tax situation, most artists
in the entertainment field, fall under simular situatons. After all most artists
are exiles by nature, so where they live ends up being quite...Poetic?
You think his music is (Shite?), you deserve to be flogged with a wet plimsole!
I hope your musical talents are better than your choice of adjectives. So dreadfully predictable.
Cheers!

I can't help but notice that you completely contradicted yourself by saying that Moz's living in the US is an improvement over living in Britian, yet everyone in the US is ignorant, and some are "out to lunch". How would that be an improvement? And how would living in LA be "poetic"? LA is a sad, ugly city. If you mean poetic in the ironic or sadistic sense, perhaps that is so. LA is a creatively stifling environment, which may explain Morrissey's lack of progress in his music these days, but it certainly isn't an enhancement! Your criticizing another about being predictable is pretty amusing because nothing in the world is more predictable than labeling American's as ignorant. That one just about puts me to sleep! I don't claim to be super patriotic for my country, and if other's criticize it and it's done intelligently I may agree. However, your attempt was so flimsy that I couldn't help but comment.

Um, tons of good music comes out of LA.

I wouldn't live there. I'm more of a New York kind of guy. But hey, whatever.
It's only a city. Don't think it makes much difference with respect to his music. Well, we can pinpoint one influence on Morrissey's music caused by L.A., and that is the Mexican influence, which I think is for the better.

Maybe, but who in particular?

Here you just made the point that I ws trying to make which is, environment truly influences art. The environment of LA isn't exactly what I would normally consider condusive to Morrissey's music. When I hear his music, the last thing I think of is LA. But one of his heros, James Dean lived there so maybe there is something to that.
