I am starving for a little superficiality. I miss posting interactive threads like "Who is your favorite actress and actor?"

My answers to the questions would be Kate Winslet and Ed Norton.

What about U?

why cant you post there anymore? have they disabled the forums? they seemed pretty boring to me the few times i perused.

The forums have been down again for almost a week. I don't know what is up. It used to be pretty cool, but as of late became too political. Still, it was nice to have a variety of places to visit.

So, ya gonna answer the superficial Q's or what, lol?

I will. I'm missing it there too. It all seems to go to hell when I miss a few days and could do with a bit of light relief - I had a pig of a last week. So to answer your question - actress, I dunno, don't really have a fave but I rate Steve Buscemi as an actor.

Kate is great! I always go see her movies.

My fave actor of all-time is Paul Newman, both for his work on screen and how he conducts himself as a "celebrity" off-screen.

My current fave actor is probably Samual Jackson, but I'm influenced by the fact that I watched "Jackie Brown" this weekend. And he gets extra points for being able to appear in any genre or size of film without losing respectability as an actor (unlike Robert DeNiro of late).

On the female side, I regret to say it's difficult to pick a current stand-out. I'm not into the Julia Robertses and Hillary Skanks that seem to be the rage nowadays. (Why did we allow butt-ugly women to be our top stars?) But I am taken with Monica Bellucci. Sadly, none of her movies are as good to watch as she is. (That's how I feel about so many of the non-butt-ugly actresses of today, from Angelina Jolie to Ashley Judd). "Irreversible", Bellucci's most noteworthy and best made film, is too barbaric and harsh to watch more than once...or to even like on any level outside of the technical. In fact, if you watched that back-to-back-to-back with "Malena" and "Passion of the Christ," you'd wonder if she has some weird torture fantasies. Nevertheless, I respect that, unlike contemporary American actresses, Bellucci doesn't stick no-nudity clauses into her contracts.

Hmm. I guess I'll have to second your Kate Winslett choice. She's got beauty, talent, AND a solid body of work. I especially like Eternal Sunshine and Quills.

Have you seen Kate in "Heavenly Creatures" (1994)? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110005/

I saw it after she received "Titanic" notoriety. Her performance in HC is what sealed the deal for me.

Steve Buscemi is great. I loved him in "The Wedding Singer."

Ed Norton

Wasn't he the character on "The Honeymooners", fatty Jackie Gleason's sidekick, the sewer worker?
He was a good actor.

I feel like Andy Ison with a reply like that. Ooops...I have to change my soiled underpants.

I can not think of a single actor to nominate as my favorite. As for a favorite actress, I am thoroughly smitten with Jennifer Jones. I have seen most of her films, even the bad ones.

If you tried being nice to me I might be nice back.

Or not.

But it's worth trying.

Are we to ass`sume MM boards are gone for good? Wouldnt they keep up the communication otherwise? Seems to me they dont give a monkey`s arse!

It's full of morons like Jehne/Scout/Smithson/ who have nothing to do but post stupid questions and try to rack up a high number of posts as if it was some sort of accomplishment.

Oooh, do I detect a little hostility here?!

I've been in contact with the webmaster. Apparently, it is coming back. They're just having technical problems at the moment.
