'I’ve Been Dreaming Of A Time When...' statement; "For Britain" support - Morrissey Central

Today's missive from our favourite radical spokesperson.

I’ve Been Dreaming Of A Time When / the English / are sick to death of Labour and Tories - Morrissey Central

I despise racism.

I despise fascism.

I would do anything for my Muslim friends, and I know they would do anything for me.

In view of this, there is only one British political party that can safeguard our security.

That party is For Britain.

Please give them a chance. Listen to them. Do not be influenced by the tyrannies of the MSM who will tell you that For Britain are racist or fascist - please believe me, they are the very opposite!!! Please do not close your mind.

Labour is hopelessly naive.

Theresa May’s policies have turned Britain into a international target.

The BBC has closed down.

The Loony Left is concerned only with victim culture.

For Britain will keep British society together. Violence is not the way forward.
There are many problems in modern Britain that have become too large for Theresa May to deal with - mostly because she created them in the first place. The press appear to deal only in fashionable outrage; inflammatory and unjust comments against any new party that threatens the same old bloody pointless two-party system.

Please give For Britain a chance. They will bring an end to the modern Westminster mania for self-destruction. For Britain is the bulldog breed that will never surrender. Both Labour and Conservatives have already sold you down the river into righteous oblivion.

This is my last political strike. No wish to upset anyone! But the time has come to fight, and Labour and the Conservatives have their backs to the sea.

Are you capable of change?

Thank you, and peace for all of us

Can someone familiar with both UK and US politics explain the "bulldog" reference? I don't get why it's offensive? Is it akin to "dog whistle politics*"? Is that a US term only? What does the bulldog signify?

* "dog whistle politics" is using code terms to signify something darker. The Republican party has used the term "law and order" for years to defend mass incarceration of African-Americans for example

I think you'll find SNP and Plaid Cymru policies are broadly internationalist.
Scottish and Welsh nationalism celebrates history, culture, landscape and our insularity means there is pride in our countries and we are, broadly speaking, very welcoming places.

English nationalism, for whatever reason, apparently isn't celebratory:

It smells of pubs, and Wormword Scrubs
And too many right-wing meetings.

It's something I find quite hard to fathom too. Answers on a postcard please.
A point well made.

We need to get better at celebrating our culture and history; but that probably means we need to be given the space and freedom to be bad at it for a while, too? Just thinking out loud.

Someone needs to have a word with him, seriously. This party is up to it's neck in far right nutcases. Extreme racism, the BNP type racism. Their policies are exclusion, segregation, division and hatred.
The politics of the UK may be fractured, it may be complex and the established political parties are far from perfect. But for God's sake, you can only imagine the kind of dystopian world this bunch of far right loonies would create if they ever got any traction.
Thankfully, the British public are more intelligent than poor old deluded naieve Mozza, and For Britain will disappear into obscurity, along with all the other far right rubbish that has tried to fuck up the country over the years.

I've been wondering this a lot too. Where is the line drawn for them?
I won't reproduce all of Jesse's tweets here, but will say that he has very strong views which he often tweets about. I wouldn't be surprised if one inspires the other to issue forth statements (which way round has yet to be seen). Mando is pretty quite. Gustavo similar. Boz says nothing (as always - even going back to his tour blog days - which I miss). Lyn occasionally mentions a viral FB type post that she's 'outraged' by and Matt promotes his band. All of whom have behaved pretty consistently since well before the recent Moz posts.
I think a bit of not biting the hand that feeds them comes in to play too IMHO.
Regards,
FWD.

And they all sign NDAs before joining.

:thumb: For Britain is the way to move forward;)
Very good policies for animals and the people who have jobs.
They are anti Islamism and anti Communism, the latter wanting
you to build a mud hut to live in and work for their comfort
while they exercise their self-given right to not work but be given
money.
Leave it to Moz to show some true political sensibility! Measured
tones and rationality, not the woopeedooo anti-Britain rantings of Count Skinny Chocula.

Everybody now knows who to vote for! For Britain!!

Love her or hate her, Julie Hamill blogs on the issue:

It’s okay to disagree, and it’s okay to keep listening to the songs.

Excerpt:

"Morrissey has expressed his preferred political party. I have explored and reflected on his words and I don’t agree with his party choice and that’s fine. Some do agree with his politics, some ignore them, some wait for the central storm to pass, some take it to heart, some get outraged come out of nowhere and take it out on other fans.

I won’t be cruel about another’s politics. If I was, I would have fallen out with good friends years ago. I will respect political opinions no matter how different, and you can’t force me to be cruel because it suits your outraged agenda, no matter how hard you troll or beat your chest in horror. People support different parties, that’s a fact of life, that’s the democratic process."

Hammil is a twat, and would literally eat his shit.
I wonder how the rest of the new (brainwashed lot) Big Rachel S, Toni S, Curtis and that fucking dope Lottie etc etc are taking this news? Reckon they'll all be dressing with white sheets over their heads before long, the utter cunts.
Monkey see, Monkey do.
Bad party, run by very bad people.

I guess it's just not the kind of phrase you expect from progressive people. It's associated with the right wing nationalists, those who call on the spirit of Churchill, the Dambusters, blah, blah, blah.
It's the kind of phrase Margaret Thatcher would use.

You're someone I look forward to reading.
I would like to be you for one day, just one day, just to see how you operate in this Moz world.
But. I would be interested to know what your opinion is on all this that he is coming gout with.

I am almost at a loss as to what so say to this latest statement and the 'interview'. Morrissey could be right. For Britain may not be the hateful political party we have come to know of. For Britain could perhaps be saying things which many of use do not want to say fully, certainly our steadfast politicians don't, that immigration has to be managed better for all concerned - that includes immigrants. The UK does need to create a safer UK for all immigrants. It is currently failing to do this. Is cutting numbers the answer? It's not an answer I'd vote for. Cutting numbers doesn't really deal with hate and racism. Cutting numbers is political sloganeering nothing more.

I find it all a bit hard to swallow though. Particularly when this latest statement mentions very clearly England and Englishness 'the bull dog' reference. These mean nothing to me as a Scottish person living in the 'UK'. To me it is further evidence of his naivety and all of this from a man who does not, and will not, vote. He has done as a great number of english people do, he has equated UK identity as English identity. Is it any wonder other countries in the UK want to remove themselves from this revisionist, empire-loving bulldog that fail to notice it's cankerous sores?

I looked at the For Britain web page and policies. Animal Rights is not mentioned. Now it could be in the manifesto but I could not bring myself to download this onto my pc. If it is a key issue for Morrissey why is it in the small print, if it is there at all. The leader of the Party has 2 dogs? This means what in the context of animal right policies?

I always thought I'd grow old with Morrissey and that we'd grump about the world from our respective care homes. If Morrissey's For Britain is the world he wants to promote then it's a world I wouldn't want to live in should they come to power. I hereby relinquish my badge of fandom and wave goodbye. I really don't want to do it but it has to be done. I cannot, in any way, support someone who promotes the views of such a party. He has lost the plot. He has lost me. It's is of little consequence to him.

from 1983 to 2018 I was there.
Goodbye Morrissey.
A stranger you arrived, a stranger you depart. Anyone else wants to go? The door is open. Skinny? Cheswick?
You people are judgemental and lack objectivity. You spew venom no matter what he says. It's not easy to challenge people in power, it takes guts. You have to be mentally strong and intelligent to defend your beliefs against verbal stoning. You would shit your pants if you had to oppose to the political elite. Cowards.
I think Ms. Waters is a trailblazer, a crusader. A very intelligent woman.

A couple of things I disagree with on the For Britain website:

In order to end the housing crisis in the UK, we must reduce demand.

I think the housing crisis would be better tackled by building more houses and imposing sensible rent controls.

Children will be taught positive aspects of British history including inventions, great leaders, and British influence throughout the world.

Surely teaching just the positive is dangerously close to the kind of 'indoctrination' For Britain are supposed to be against?

Nothing racist here, though. Just (in my opinion) bad policy.

And 4/20 day - I do think Moz has become a paranoid pothead
Then somebody should take advantage of his munchies and take him on a whirlwind tour of ethnic vegetarian eateries and introduce his stoned ass to the owners at the end of the meal.

As a guy who lives in the heart of legal pot country, I would probably be more likely to ascribe this behavior to prescription abuse and/or alcohol.

Besides, I could see this being his attitude about cannabis.

As for Julie goes, she has created a cottage industry on the back of morrissey its in her interest not to rock the boat.
Also, I know for a fact speaking to other fans that people are worried Curtis is collecting the names of everyone who criticises Morrissey and calls him racist on social media, and getting them added to the official banned list. As long as he has the ear of the crew, he can now control who gets in to the shows. There are plenty of folks out there who don't agree with Morrissey's politics, but don't want to risk a lifetime concert ban by speaking about it in public.

"I despise racism.

Those aren't the words of a racist.
"Hey guys, I totally have black friends. It's just that you never see them because they are imaginary-
I mean, yeah. But I totally do you guys."

Weekend is here and instead of some chilling out he took a stick and stirred around in the shit. Solo is now the hardest job I ever had and they don't even pay me.

Glad he made clear that no one is nazi or fascist for wanting change and change is badly needed in a world where generations of lazy socialists occupied every important seat in society.

She seems a decent person to me. You on the other hand........

No party is going to put something that's obviously racist in their manifesto. There are laws to be wary of as right wingers have recently found out. Listen to them speak and it's all there.

Be sure of this, they are a new party because they were too extreme for UKIP.
