I walked down to Interlude and Playboys was played during garder toss!

gonna be doin' it soon...

but it's a straight shoot-out for our wedding song:

'there is a light that never goes out' by the smiths or 'little chef' by frazier chorus.

playboys for the garter song: i may have to rip that one off of you, mate!

No only dirges played at the wedding.

The divorce called for "I started something I couldn't finish".

It's yours! If my wife was a Moz fan there would have been more!

ASK!

"Ask" was played at the garter toss of ours.

"So, if there's something you'd like to try
If there's something you'd like to try
ASK ME - I WON'T SAY "NO" - HOW COULD I ?"

We also had Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" amoungst many other great tunes.

Do u mind me showing my blonde side and asking, whats a garter toss..... its sounds a little rude actually...

I want to have "there is a light..." played at mine, not very original but sets the right mood, now all i need is a moz fan for a husband....!

I would presume a "garter toss" is when the bride throws the garter.

Which is more than likely "blue"

Ever heard of this one -

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue"

Why steal those memories, we cherish.

You don't understand...

Too young to really be alive in all fairness.

Yeah I've heard that one. I thought it was just called throwing the boquet!

Well they probably throw that as well.

Who cares.

A few years later, he goes with it.

And he doesn't come up smelling of roses.

(Nor boquets of any variety)

Re: ASK! about garters

People in the UK probably call it something different.
Like suspenders in the US is what the guy keeps his trousers up with but in the UK it holds up the girls fancy tights, which is kind of what the garter does...but it is really just ceremonial and tradition..at least the one that gets pulled off and tossed to the crowd.

go here to see for yourself.
http://www.wedding-garter.com/garters.htm

And its the guy that pulls it off the girls leg and tosses it to the single blokes at the party. That guy then gives it a good sniff and acts silly with it. He then dances with the girl that catches the brides flower bouquet.

Where do these traditions come from?

No but we had Blur, Gene and Herp Alpert:

Entrance to the dinner....Blur - The Universal
First dance ....Herp Alpert - This guy's in love with you
Money dance....Gene - Why I was born

in fact she got floor tickets to DC (Sept 29th) for my birthday, which is 7 hours from where we live.. great trip, stayed at a nice hotel, walked to the venue, had a great time, and I grabbed Morrissey's hand.. such a loving wife
