It isnt right. I remember when the night was 1/2 empty & now you cant even get a ticket 2 weeks in advance. Is there still a poster in the doorway saying no pimps no dealers? That place in the gay village years ago was fab - what was it called?

I'm sure it was in Equinox on Bloom St, which was near New York, New York.
I remember half filled rooms in the S&G, and buggering off to the Brickhouse to see some people.
Its about time they move from the S&G, last time i went it was a sweltering pit of fat 30 somethings (i was one).

Oh youre right! The Equinox was bloody fab, I would love to see the Smiths night moved somewhere else, if not more glamorous then at least erm, bigger!

Cheeky but true.Not wishing to further contribute to the escalating row going on this board at the moment there are some people who reckon that Seriously Flawed,myself,Mr Smith and A Girl are all one person so you are forgiven and I am sure that Seriously Flawed should be flattered!Hard to believe there could be 2 middle aged cases on the board eh?

the next night is on friday 14th january - there's a message about it on the website at the moment.

i don't think the staff are rude if they're treated in the same way you or me expect to be treated.

which is the beauty of the star and garter really. it's a dive stuck in the middle of the red light district so you can imagine the kind of shit they must get day in day out from the passing trade, so if someone gives them any shit they just give it straight back.

whenever I've mentioned it the guys (there's two of them apparently) who look after the website have said that what is written in the listings is always inspired by things people have said or done at the door at smiths nights. don't take it personally - blame the people like me who didn't get a ticket and is resigned to hanging around at the front door on the night hoping someone will leave early. let's face it - if I'm pissed and nobody's leaving then I'm going to blame whoever won't let me in.

see you all there - i'd worry more about the place being full of f***ing football hooligans than a bit of skitting on a pub website.
