This is what seller put on their ebay.

    "i don't sell fake items!
this signed the smiths lp i bought from an english smiths collector who met the band in person at 23.october.1986 in london.i believe him - because i know this guy for many years and i also met morrissey in person back in june 2009 in berlin/germany and he signed one solo album - but didn't want to sign a smiths lp at that time- and this signature on the smiths record looks genuine.why do you think it could be or should be faked?"

Why does anyone buy signed items from ebay? All you have is the sellers word that it is genuine

    These are just dreadful

the first one the pen would have faded and morrisseys sig never looked like that at the time

the second one might be worth emailing the boy from the bioyfriends on their myspace , but i think most people would see it themselves rather than get someone else to sell it

Even if it was genuine it's still quite sad that people buy them. I mean sad as in pathetic.

This statement right here(which is total bullshit) should have brought up red flags soon after. I, too, have met Morrissey...twice, and BOTH times, he not only signed Moz stuff, but Smiths stuff too. Infact, he said that "Lounder Than Bombs" was his All time Fav Smiths disc(Abrahan from here was with me, the second time. I could be wrong on what Smiths record it was-Im going off memory), but he did say a certain Smiths record was his all time favorite, and had absolutely no reservations whatsoever signing Smiths stuff.

That is one of the worst ever. Just horrible.

Actually that one where the second "S" is crammed in could be authentic. The RRs look good.

Morrissey used to refuse to sign Smiths stuff all the way up to the mid to late '90s.

Buying sigs off Ebay is like buying a Take That album....you just don't do it..EVER! ;)

I have collected alot of Liverpool FC sigs over the years and have Gerrard, Torres, Rush, Thompson, Fairclough, Brucie and others. I often see fakes of these players going for crazy sums on Ebay and often from sellers who have no proof that they are real.

I'm sure we've discussed this item recently... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Morrissey-Sue...dZViewItemQQptZUK_Records?hash=item2a02bb5d1f

Sorry if it was on another thread... so many fake signature threads :) [Found the propper thread here http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showthread.php?t=103624]

Here it is again... or a very similar one... why bother
The original and probably genuine http://www.popsike.com/MORRISSEY-SUEDEHEAD-7-SIGNED-MESSAGE-COA-the-smiths/300052738503.html
The second, very poor fake http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MORRISSEY-SUE...ords?hash=item3ca5fa14f3&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
This third hideously fake one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Morrissey-Sue...dZViewItemQQptZUK_Records?hash=item2a02bb5d1f Don't touch it with a barge pole.

I'm sorry but even the popsike one is a fake  It's pretty obvious to me. The RRs are just wrong. Also not very steady symmetry wise. The ebay one is obviously written, not signed. These forgers try to cover up their lack of skills and imperfections by using markers instead of ball point pens...much easier to forge. Try it yourself.

    Maybe Allie can comment ?

Why didn't Morrissey want to sign Smiths' LP. It's incredible, but would Morrissey be denying his years on Smiths?

Judging by the descriptions, these are sold by the same seller with 2 ebay accounts.

    Truly shocking fakes
