Has anyone written a poem lately?

Thank you all so much for the compliments it really means a lot to me :)

I told you people would love this poem. Well done for posting it. You are very talented.

Isn't it just. I smiled and i got goosies, i also felt very sad.

I think I might have a final verse for my poem, but I'm worried about it.

I squeezed it out, but now I think it might be shit

Put it up, seriously I was worried about mine but there were some really kind comments. I do not think you are capable of producing shit (in terms of poetry) Give us a show and we'll let you know :)

OK, so I finished the poem, and put it here in it's entirety. I struggled with the last vers..... I hope it doesn't let down the first two?

Well, here goes :o

Fate

There's a fire on the hills
And it's redening the sky
Spreads it's arms and slowly kills
I daren't ask the reasons Why?
Are they selling out there homes,
Cut the trees and burn the land
Took a million years to grow
Now it's gone for 'cash in hand'
To satisfy the Western Man.

I see footprints in the sand
Leading back to yesteryear
Where the 'red man' faught so proud
While his family hid in fear
20 Dollars for each scalp
The cowboy carries all he can
Sais he's only trying to help
The never ending caravan
To build new homes for Western Man

Rainbows floating on the sea
Reflecting battles lost and won
Sayd they were fighting to be free
So when will that freedom come?
Do we realy know our path
Should we retrace it while we can
Because tomorow comes so fast
And holds the power in her hand
To seal the fate of Western Man

Some non PC ramblings.... I make no appology!

Bah bah black sheep
We were taught as kids
But the PC bragade have banned it
They realy atke the piss
And little Marys crying
She realy misses home
But don't you dare give her a hug
You leave my kids alone
And sticking little plasters
On little Johnnies knee?
I don't think I can trust you
Better leave that job for me
And don't dream of taking photos
When sports day comes arround
They could end up on the internet
It will not be alowed
Because YOU are all responsible
For the safety of my child
(But on Saturdays she's out all night
Pissed up, going wild...)

;)

Good stuff Bassist..
After criticising Morrissey for the "Paris" lyrics I could get shot down here -but I'll do it anyway, 'cause

(not recent but little seen)

The novice recants

I'd rather hear, "you're gorgeous dear,
Come meet me, I'll be waiting"
Than sit inside and theorise
On transubstantiation.

I want to be among the free
Where love is all that's taken
When "kiss my ass" is not a laugh
But said as invitation.

Don't fill my head with Saints long dead
Or frighten me with Satan
I'm off to find a man alive
And kneel in adoration.

Thanks Bassist...:)

I hav'nt written as much lately, in need of inspiration. Sometimes I ask people to throw a few titles at me and see what happens.

Boyish dream

You’ve got everyone
Trying to fall over forwards
To meet you
To greet you
And yet I wont
I wont fall into place
Because I’m not part
Of the stupid race

You’ve got people
Ripping your jeans off
At the seems
And
I want a part of this
Boyish dream

You’ve got legs to die for
A smile to live for
And I don’t know
What’s under your hat

You’ve got everyone
Hanging on every word
Of your trailing voice
And I stand beside
Not because you want me too
But because you don’t

Oh, I want a part of this boyish dream
And I want to kiss your hips
And I want to stroke your tongue with lips
Oh, my boy
Let me be your toy

Life Doesn't Rhyme

See, I find it hard to believe
That what you write
is truly what you perceive
That it is about what you revere
and that you're sincere
even though you rhymes are so clear

were you truly taking a nap
under your phrygian cap?
Or were those words you took
Out of your little rhyme book?

Because life, life doesn't rhyme
Life doesn't rhyme!
No one has the time
To think of words on the spot
And if it's hot, we say it's hot
And if it's not, we say it's...it's...

were you feeling really blue
when she said "thank you"
When you said so much more
A phrase you never said before

See, I believe in saying things
the way they are
if they happen to rhyme,
they rhyme
When you pick and choose
The words you use
It's the true meaning you lose

Because life, life doesn't rhyme
Life doesn't rhyme!
No one has the time
To feel according to a chart
And if it's a broken heart, we say it's a broken hear
And if it's not, we say it's...it's...

At last
I've found my long lost love song
I need a hair of the dog that bit me
to get me over you
I need the strength of a love to lift me
To come to my rescue

Don’t Think Of Me

Well the time has come to let you go
And it’s come too fast, you see
But when you see someone with eyes of blue
brown hair, looking at you
Don’t think of me

I think it’s time we spent time apart
And it’s time I intend to be free
So when you see Mr Morrissey
dancing like a tit on tv
Just don’t think of me

It’s time to go our separate ways
It’s time you let me be
And when someone tells you they love you
Or there’s no one they prize above you
Please don’t think of me
