Greatest songs of all time

greatest pop ….

This song might just be my favorite of all time......I regret never being able to see him live.

This is the first time he ever played the song live.....the comments that pop up just blow my mind.

yeah, almost. ;)

Though I recently found this live version:

... and I ADORED it. Mostly because of Cindy Lauper as the guest singer... because her inclusion is truly heretic for the standards of punk or hardcore... and yet so beautifully following the sense of the lyrics!

Society's arms of control
Rise above! We're gonna rise above!
Think they're smart; can't think for themselves
Rise above! We're gonna rise above!
Laugh at us behind our backs
Rise above! We're gonna rise above!
I find satisfaction in what they lack
Rise above! We're gonna rise above!

I guess it is the beauty of destroying the standards of what is acceptable for some audiences that became very rigid and adopted some sort of uniform....It gives a different sense to the whole song and I like it.

I enjoy Black Flag, but for some reason my heart is with Minor Threat when it comes to early american hardcore punk bands.

(Can't you read?)

"Nature is a Language" is probably the BEST homage to Morrissey I have ever heard... by far better than a literal cover.
Anyway: Embrace Coil, Love Coi, Adore Coil...
