It's funny you mention Billy Budd. I was in a restaurant with some friends in '95, and "Billy Budd" came on the restaurant's music system. I almost jumped out of my seat leaving the rest of my friends to wonder, "Do you need help?":)

It was one of those chain restaurants, so it wasn't a radio station, but still it did get "some" airplay in the U.S.!

Everyone was already mentioned the likely singles, I might offer: "Don't Make Fun of Daddy's Voice.":guitar:

SPEEDWAY... Definitely SPEEDWAY!

I Don't Mind If You Forget Me
I Knew I Was Next

I know that's pushing it a bit but I agree with many that have been suggested already.

This thread needs more Alf Button covers ;)

What difference would it make if they were singles. The world wont listen anyway......sorry, couldn't resist.....yes....sorry doesn't help.

Totally agree - Billy Budd is one of his best songs.

There's something funny about the Vauxhall version though in my opinion. The production sounds a bit 'mushy' to me. Maybe too many guitar overdubs, plus movie sound effects I can hear someone whistling at 1:07 plus bells etc. It's all in there including the kitchen sink!

Still bloody fabulous though :guitar:

I think all of these would have made GREAT Morrissey singles:

Hairdresser On Fire
The National Front Disco
I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday
Tomorrow
Jack The Ripper (live)
Billy Budd
Now My Heart Is Full
Speedway
Nobody Loves Us
Trouble Loves Me
Lost
Come Back To Camden
I Like You
I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now
When Last I Spoke To Carol
It's Not Your Birthday Anymore
I'm OK By Myself

The last three still might, of course...
